Monday #1
Aviara AV32:
Latest-Styling in a U.S.-Built Day Boat
Aviara, a new boat line created by MasterCraft, is aimed at buyers who have perhaps outgrown a full-on tow sports boat but still want a dayboat to enjoy the water with their friends in a classy, luxurious venue. It’s definitely influenced by the recent wave of premium European dayboat designs, with a hatchet bow and open-transom stern complete with a hydraulic swim platform to create a teak beach when desired. The hardtop is standard, as is a premium stereo package and upscale upholstery. Our test boat was powered with twin 6.0L Ilmor MPI 380-hp engines with Yanmar drives, which pushed her to 54.9 mph at 5600 rpm. A joystick is also standard.

Boston Whaler 285 Conquest:
Pilothouse 3-Season Weekender
The Boston Whaler 285 Conquest is a boat designed for all-weather, extended-season fishing and weekending, especially if the buyer opts for the fully enclosed pilothouse, as seen here. However, for buyers who prefer more fresh air at the helm—and for those in more southerly venues—the helm area can be surrounded by sloping, down-east style windows that deflect spray but let the breezes in. The full forward windshield with wipers is standard, as is a power vent above them to provide air flow when needed. Belowdecks, she can accommodate two couples overnight.

Wednesday #1
Key West 244CC:
50.4 MPH WOT w/2x Evinrude E-TEC G2 150s
Redundancy is bad in writing or speaking, but good in offshore boats. We like the twin Evinrude E-TEC G2 150 H.O.s that provide a power option for the Key West 244CC. This is a relatively light center console at just 5,046 lbs. (2,288 kg) that is ready to run. The high-tech two-strokes turning RX4 15” x 20” (38.1 cm x 50.8 cm) four-blade props did an exceptional job of putting her on plane in our tests, with a 2.7-second hole shot and 0 to 30 time of 4.9 seconds. Top speed was 50.4 mph. The twin engine package also proved to be fuel-efficient, getting 5.2 mpg at a 1000-rpm, 5.7 mph trolling speed, and about 2.5 mpg at a cruise of 24.9 mph.

Thursday #1
MAKO® 214 CC:
Turnkey Fishboat w/Family-Friendly Options
MAKO® is noted for building hard-core, turnkey fishboats, but add the upholstery package and backrests to the bow area of the MAKO® 214 CC and she becomes a comfortable rig for family time as well. Note the low-profile anodized aluminum grabrails and the gunwale bolsters. This arrangement can be left in place as anglers step up to the bow deck for some casting or to handle the anchor. A similarly-upholstered flip-up bench seat is available for the transom, turning that area into a spot for a bit of socializing when the rods are put up for the day.

Four Winns Horizon 350 OB:
Large Bowrider w/700 Outboard Horses
The Four Winns Horizon 350 OB weighs over 13,000 lbs. (5,896 kg) and is rated to carry up to 16 guests, which explains why it makes sense to clamp a pair of 350-hp Mercury Verado outboards on the transom. In fact, twin 400-R Mercs are an available option for those who want to crack the 50-mph barrier – with the 350s we recorded a top speed of 46.6 mph. The package includes joystick control and trim tabs with indicators, standard. Yamaha F350s are also available factory-rigged.
