Monday #1
CL Yachts CLA 76 Flybridge:
Open and Airy Motoryacht
Our surveys indicate that owners of motoryachts in the 76’ (23.2 m) range like an open main deck where people in the salon can see right through to the helm, which gives the boat an open, bright, airy feel. CL Yachts, the newly rebranded luxury yachts division of Cheoy Lee, has done just that with its CLA 76. The new CLA 76 Flybridge is the successor to the popular Alpha Express Series featuring a lightweight, Michael Peters-designed hull. The forward formal dining area seats six to eight, something that is hard to find on a pilothouse motoryacht this size.

Beneteau Swift Trawler 35:
Easy Control for Single-Handing
The Beneteau Swift Trawler 35 is designed to be run with a small crew and can be operated alone with little effort. With the convenience of the helm door and bulwarks side door, our test captain found her easy to tie up single-handed. Though docking with a single-engine inboard can be a challenge, the standard bow and stern thrusters make pinpoint docking easy for anyone.

Chaparral 347 SSX:
Bowrider with Hardtop & Cabin
The Chaparral 347 SSX is both a large bowrider and a weekender for two thanks to a compact cabin below decks. The fiberglass hardtop is large enough to provide shade for the whole family. It’s equipped with LED overhead lighting and speaker-bar, and offers an optional, retractable SureShade cockpit awning. Below decks is a cozy cabin that can sleep a couple on a weekend outing.

Regal 33 SAV:
All Sports Activity Vessel
The Regal 33 SAV (Sports Activity Vessel™) is one of the most innovative and practical boats introduced this year, in our opinion. As its name implies, she has been designed for sports activities, and we’re hard-pressed to think of one that she can’t accomplish on the water. There is a real livewell, places for tackle boxes, rod holders, and rod racks. She has an opening side door that scuba divers will love. Bow seating with a table is for picnics and cocktails, and a filler cushion turns it into a sun pad. An aft facing seat in the cockpit can be used for spotting a wakeboarder who can be towed from the hardtop pylon. There are three seats at the helm for companion cruising, a grill and refrigerator in the cockpit for cookouts, and below is a head and two beds to sleep four. We think this boat is something special.

Riviera 72 Sports Motor Yacht:
Unusual Salon Forward
In most convertibles and motoryachts the salon is placed aft in the main deck house and the galley, or galley and helm are forward. Not so in the new Riviera 72 Sports Motor Yacht which has a large salon forward, as can be seen above. The advantages of this design are numerous. In addition to its size, the dual use of having a formal dining area to starboard is the fact that the crew does not need to walk through the area to get to the galley, which is aft. Owner/operators will like the centrally located galley because it is handy to both the mezzanine seating and the table in the salon. The helm is in the sky lounge above.
