Monte Carlo Yachts 70 Mk II: A 360-Degree Look at the New MCY 70

Page Title
The trademark round portlight shapes have been made even larger in the new version of the MCY 70 which features a brighter interior master stateroom, part of which is shown here.

Hull #1 of the new MCY 70 Mk II was on display at the Dusseldorf boat show last month and it will be months until another one can be built and sent to the U.S. We like 70’ (21 m) motoryachts because they are an ideal size for an owner/operator. Virtually all boats in this size range now have bow thrusters, and many have stern thrusters, too, making docking easy, even for a new owner. A number of our readers have asked for pictures, so today, we take a 360-degree look at the aft deck, salon and galley of the MCY 70, and a peak below at the master.

The aft deck of the MCY 70 is made for a party and the stainless steel framed doors open wide to the salon. Six people can comfortably sit at the aft deck table for al fresco dining. As you scroll around you will see the interior structure of the building in which the large motoryachts were displayed in Dusseldorf.

360: This 360 shot was taken in the middle of the salon and note the large side windows and how low they go, all part of the builder’s theme of making the new 70 lighter and brighter. Look closely and you will see the cabinet next to the aft salon door that hides the private stairway down to the master stateroom – another improvement in the Mark II version.

360: Here we get a good view of the galley which is to port and adjacent to the helm. The helm is to starboard with a stylish screen behind it which is mirrored on the port side as a decorative element. Note the side door next to the helm, something not often seen in these types of motoryachts, which makes for easier docking when the skipper is single-handing the vessel. Looking aft, the size and comfort level of salon is evident.

In the aft section of the salon there is a private entrance to the master stateroom. Black granite is a décor theme used throughout the main deck of the MCY 70.
Page Title
With the stairs to the left we can see that the master bed faces forward. Note the extensive lacquer work above the headboard on the bulkhead.
Page Title
The new MCY 70 has carpet on the deck of the master and has been designed for comfortable living.
Page Title
In the master stateroom on the starboard side is a desk/vanity below the signature large windows and opening portlight. To the right is a walk-in closet with cabinets.
Page Title
As can be seen, the master closet is large. MCY has also made extensive use of lacquer work in the new version of the 70.
Page Title
On the opposite side of the stateroom is a sofa below the large round windows and opening portlights, a design theme that is incorporated into every Monte Carlo Yacht.
Page Title
The master bath has a large marble counter with a marble double wash basin. The elegant marble theme is carried throughout the head. Lacquer work can be seen in the mirror of the bulkhead.

The master bath shower is lined in marble and has numerous shower nozzles as well as a bench seat.
