Tetra-Pod Fails USCG Testing
We received a notice from the USCG yesterday that stated that the 11’ Tetra-Pod pictured above failed five out of five of their tests. It does not float level when swamped, it failed port and starboard stability tests, it did not have enough flotation for the person capacity, and it failed the maximum capacity test. When visiting the Tetra-Pod website we noted that the company says that the Tetra-Pod is a “…Transport Canada, US Coast Guard certified vessel.” There are evidently 66 of these units on the market.
