Fleming 55:
Extended Boat Deck Adds Utility

Fleming 55
Fleming 55

The Fleming Yachts 55 has the striking lines of a classic long-range cruiser. However, her interiors and mechanical features incorporate hundreds of improvements resulting from years of experience at sea, not only from founder Tony Fleming himself but also from the suggestions of many owners and Fleming fans. She is built to CE Classification "A" standards, which means she is truly ready to take on the world's oceans and she has the range to do it. At 7.4 knots, her twin Cummins QSC 8.3s burned only 2.4 gph for a projected range of better than 2780 NM in our tests. The extended boat deck on the bridge allows enclosing the entire aft deck below to make her a three-season cruiser. More...

Riviera 445 SUV:
Multi-Mission Motoryacht

Riviera 445 SUV
Riviera 445 SUV

The Riviera 445 SUV is a "sport utility vessel" that can be used for fishing, cruising, entertaining, scuba diving, and all manner of dayboating activities. She has a low-profile design, keeping the center of gravity down, which is always a plus offshore and makes her at home in areas where bridges are low. The hand-laid hull has a solid bottom and chines up to a point above the waterline where coring begins. There’s a watertight collision bulkhead forward and independent compartments throughout the hull provide added security. The deck and cabin top are cored structures. More...

How 2-Stroke & 4-Stroke Outboards Work:
Faster Acceleration w/2-Stroke Power

Evinrude
How 2-Stroke and 4-Stroke Outboards Work

Modern 2-stroke outboards, like the Evinrude E-TEC G2 series, provide many advantages over 4-stroke models, such as a simpler fuel and air supply system that cuts weight, reduces the number of parts and the need for adjustments, and promises lower maintenance. Two-strokes have no valves or cam shafts to wear or get out of adjustment. And, most importantly, they make power on every down-stroke of the piston and every revolution of the crankshaft, while a 4-stroke makes power only on every other revolution. As a result, Evinrude E-TEC G2 engines wind up very rapidly to provide good hole shots and are particularly strong in the low and middle ranges of the power curve, providing good acceleration throughout the band used most often by boaters. They also have the added benefit of never requiring an oil change. More...

Everglades 273CC:
Well-Equipped Offshore CC

Everglades 273CC
Everglades 273CC

The Everglades 273CC is a premium-grade CC with many features not found on many boats in class, including a standard Lewmar power anchor winch at the bow, standard hardtop with lights and rocket launchers, and a tempered glass power windshield with a washer and wiper system. Though she's a fully-capable offshore fishing machine with a 20-degree deadrise at the transom and a 9'3" (2.82 m) beam, she floats in just 18” (45.72 cm) of water, making her a good bay boat as well as a useful platform for family beach picnics and swimming. What's in Your Bag?
MarineMax Provides the Safety Basics

uscg report
The MarineMax “Go Boating” kit contains all of the USCG-required equipment, plus some items that are needed but not required.

Today’s safety video is an unabashed commercial for MarineMax, but it is one that we are happy to run because it demonstrates “best practices” in the marine business. We’d like to see every dealer supply all needed safety items – and many of them do. Very few boats come from the factory with all of the gear needed to meet USCG boat operation requirements, which is why it is necessary for the dealer to properly equip the boat to meet the minimum safe-operation necessities. MarineMax even supplies a five-gallon bucket. See the video...
