Schaefer Yachts 510 Sport
Schaefer Yachts 510 Sport

There are sunroofs and then there are sunroofs, like the giant slider that's integrated into the top of the Schaefer Yachts 510 Sport. With the roof closed, the helm and salon areas are cozy and protected from the elements. With it open, she has the feel of an open-air sportboat where the operator can enjoy a wide-open view of the sea ahead. The double-wide helm seat is elevated to give the driver a clear view. The lacquer-finished bar to port has a flip-up top that reveals a sink and electric grill. (A galley-down arrangement is optional.) More...

She has a powder-coated trailer with Super lube hubs and disc brakes with a base price of $24,595. The trailer has a swing-away tongue, allowing the rig to fit into most garages. We tested her with the optional Mercury 115 EXLPT FourStroke ($1,000) and found that she planed in 4.6 seconds. She had a top speed of 43.5 mph with a 17" (43 cm) pitch prop. She is also offered with a 150-hp Mercury FourStroke, which the company says will produce speeds of close to 50 mph.
