Boston Whaler 280 Outrage:
Redesigned to Suit the Customers

Boston Whaler 280 Outrage
Boston Whaler 280 Outrage

Boston Whaler is noted for paying special attention to the requests and suggestions from their customers and the 280 Outrage is an example of some of the improvements that have come from this process. The 280 has been redesigned from the keel up with a re-engineered hull that includes a flat running pad aft to provide quicker times to plane and less bow rise on acceleration. It works - time to plane with the twin Mercury 300 Verados supplied on our test boat was 4.1 seconds. Above the waterline, the interior has been completely redesigned to provide more comfort, functionality, and simplicity of operation. More...

Prestige 590:
Cummins Diesels and Zeus Drives

Prestige 590
Prestige 590

The twin 600-hp Cummins QSC 8.3 diesels were a good match for the Prestige 590, pushing her to a top speed of 26.3 knots. Best cruise was pretty much the skipper's choice - she got 0.4 NMPG at anything above 2000 rpm and 11.8 knots. But range was the greatest at 21.7 knots - about 263 NM. Our test crew found her simple to handle at the docks, with the Zeus joystick making it easy. More...

TRACKER Pro Guide V-16 WT
TRACKER Pro Guide V-16 WT

The TRACKER Pro Guide V-16 WT is easy to tow, easy to launch, and easy to store in most garages. She is easy to buy as well with a base price of $18,595 that includes 60-hp ELPT Mercury FourStroke and a single-axle trailer. The 42 lb. (19 kg) thrust Minn Kota trolling motor at the bow is standard, as is the Lowrance Hook 5 fishfinder on the console. She's compact but tough enough to take on rock-ribbed northern lakes for walleye, smallmouth, and pike for many years thanks to the all-welded hull built of .100" marine-grade 5052 aluminum alloy joined to an all-aluminum stringer grid and transom. She has a 20-degree deadrise at the transom, considerably sharper than most aluminum boats. More...
