Intrepid 475 Panacea:
60.7 MPH WOT in Comfort
Thanks to Special Seat Shocks

Intrepid 475 Panacea
Intrepid 475 Panacea

Anglers who head out beyond the edge of the continental shelf sometimes spend more time running (in spine-jarring conditions) than fishing — but that won’t be the case with the new Intrepid 475 Panacea powered with quad Yamaha 425 XTO outboards. She comes equipped with six Stidd Slimline Low Back Admiral Helm Seats with bolsters, arm rests and integrated footrests, plus Shockwave S5 marine shock-absorbing systems under the seats for a cushy ride despite high speeds and rough water. Freeboard of 5’10” (1.78 m) forward should keep all aboard dry in most conditions. More...

Quicksilver Long Block and Crate Engines:
Repowering at a Reasonable Cost

Quicksilver Long Block and Crate Engines
Quicksilver Long Block and Crate Engines

If you have an old inboard or sterndrive boat powered by GM gas engines marinized by any brand, including Volvo Penta, Crusader, Mercury and many others, you don’t have to consign your boat to the bone yard or be hit with an expensive repower bill to install the new generation engines that may not fit in the space. Now, Mercury’s Quicksilver division offers a better option for many boat owners with its new 3.0, 5.7- and 8.1-liter engines that it is building from scratch. They are not remanufactured engines. This means that they will fit in the old boat, and not require a rebuild workaround, which can be expensive.

Long Block and Crate Engines. Making repower even less expensive for engines with a damaged block, is a new Long Block (essentially the block, pistons, crankshaft, and everything in the block needed) that requires 12 major parts from the old engine. A Crate Engine is also available, and it is a mid-range option between a Long Block and a Fully Dressed Engine ready to go. It requires just six major parts from the old engine. See our video where we explain it all and list exactly what is needed for each repower option. With the high price of new boats and engines, this may be the best way to save your boating investment, and get back on the water. More...

Leopard 51 PC:
Power Cat w/722 NM Range at 9.2 Knots

Leopard 51 PC
Leopard 51 PC

With a 25’1” (7.65 m) beam and very sharp forward entry on the twin hulls, the Leopard 51 PC is more than ready for open water operation. In fact, the South African builder offers to deliver her to the U.S. on her own bottom if the buyer chooses. She also has the displacement speed range for this sort of offer: at 5.7 knots, the twin 370-hp Yanmars can push her better than 2250 NM, allowing a 10 percent reserve on the 396-gallon (1,499 L) fuel capacity. At 9.2 knots, range is 722 NM. She tops out at 23.2 knots, at which range drops to about 221 NM. More...

Hatteras Factory:
No Expense Spared in Quality Build

uscg report
Hatteras Factory Video

Hatteras spares no expense when it comes to building the strongest hulls possible. One of the techniques they rely on is resin infused vacuum molding. As shown here, workers swarm over the hulls to make sure that every resin feed tube is perfectly positioned before the huge vacuum bag is drawn down and the resin is added. The process ensures an excellent resin-to-glass ratio throughout, as well as forcing resin into even the tiniest crevices in composites above the waterline. After the process is complete, samples of the hull go to a lab to verify the resin-to-glass ratio. But that is just the beginning. See the rest of the story in our construction video. More...
