Leopard 51 PC:
Extended Range at Displacement Speeds

Leopard 51 PC
Leopard 51 PC

The Leopard 51 PC had near linear fuel consumption in our tests, like many power cats, but Captain Steve found her twin 370-hp Yanmars ran best at 3000 rpm, which produced about 17 knots and a range around 300 NM. Top speed at 3800 rpm was 23.2 knots. For extended cruising, dropping the speed to 1500 rpm and 8.2 knots extends the range to over 1025 NM. Note this is with combined fuel tankage of just 396 gallons (1,499 L)—she’s not a fuel hog, compared to many yachts with similar accommodations. More...

Intrepid 475 Panacea:
Center Console Fishing Machine
w/Luxury Cruising Amenities

Intrepid 475 Panacea
Capt. Steve takes the measurement of the overhead as he enters the Intrepid 475, a boat designed to do it all.

The new Intrepid 475 Panacea is designed for people who are downsizing from battlewagons and simplifying their lives afloat. In fact, the Intrepid 475 Panacea can do a lot of things that one would never try on a big convertible – such as having a sunning party on the bow, sneaking in between the reefs and to go scuba diving, zipping out of the marina single-handed at the drop of a hat when word comes that the big ones are biting. Palm Beach 55:
Designed for Gracious Cruising

BOAT NAME
Palm Beach 55

The Palm Beach 55 has taken its inspiration from the Downeast design concept and refined it with rounded curves, teak trim in all the right places, and tumble home in the stern quarters that is just right. In the image above note the awning that extends over the whole cockpit that has built-in seating and room for deck chairs. That is living. More...

Absolute 58 Fly:
Clever Galley Saves Space

Absolute 58 Fly
Absolute 58 Fly

There are a lot of good ideas on the Absolute 58 Fly, and one of them is her galley design. Corners in galley are usually wasted space, often devoted to hard to reach trash bins. By filling in the corner in the galley on the 58 Fly, the builder has squeezed more function into a limited space. The four-burner cooktop with sea rails fills that space. Note the upright refrigerator/freezer and the wide open door in the background. More...

Hargrave 116 Pilothouse:
Main Deck Master in a Jack Sarin Design

Hargrave 116 Pilothouse
Hargrave 116 Pilothouse

One of the many advantages of a main deck master like that in the Jack Sarin-designed Hargrave 116 Raised Pilothouse is that the owners can enjoy the best view aboard without ever leaving their suite. Powered blinds provide privacy when desired. Note the quality of the woodwork here—cabinets and doors are a combination of high-gloss Sapele wood and Makore Wave, but an endless palate of custom materials and finishes are available from this custom builder. His and her baths are just ahead. More...

Sailfish 245 DC:
A Fishing Cockpit Made to Party

Sailfish 245 DC
Sailfish 245 DC

Virtually all builders of center consoles these days are marketing their boats for the whole family to use for general boating, in addition to hard-core fishing, and Sailfish is no exception. The image above is of the cockpit of the Sailfish 245 DC which has three bench seats that fold down for picnics and cocktail parties, and fold up for fishing or watersports activities. Why more builders don’t do this is beyond us, but it is a good way to add lots of functionality to the boat. Sailfish has done it particularly well. More...
