New Mercury V-6 FourStroke:
Outboards from 175 to 225-HP
Mercury tells us it engineered its line of 3.4-liter V-6 FourStroke outboards to optimize performance and reliability while reducing weight and maximizing fuel economy. According to the builder, its product testing shows that these outboards deliver Mercury’s best-ever hole shot times for a 4-stroke outboard in their horsepower range, as well as to be quite fuel efficient. We are currently working with Mercury Marine to arrange some boat tests so that we can independently verify these claims. We’ll keep you posted, but in the meantime…

Galeon 485 HTS:
Crash-Bang Test in 30 Knots
Our test captain put his spurs to the Galeon 485 HTS in 8' (2.44 m) seas and 30-knot winds going from between 25 to 32 knots. He reports that after flying off a large square one, he braced for the impact, but it never came. He reports that her performance in these conditions was “staggering.”
