Regal 29 OBX:

Twin Outboard Bowrider w/ 52.6 MPH WOT

Regal 29 OBX
The Regal 29 OBX combines style and quality construction with a rarely seen combination, twin outboards on a bowrider. She's shown here with the optional hardtop with sunroof.

The Regal 29 OBX, designed for twin outboards, delivers improved performance over heavier but less powerful single sterndrive power, according to the company, and also provides additional storage space. Powered with twin Yamaha 200s, she planed in 4.3 seconds and reached a top speed of 52.6 mph in our tests. She's equipped with accessories that many manufacturers offer as options, including a pressurized freshwater system, stereo, depth sounder, vessel sink in the head, and a Sunbrella Bimini top.

Riviera 6000 Sport Yacht:

Sea-Worthy Design, Versatile Layout

BOAT NAME
At speed, the hull of the Riviera 6000 Sport Yacht throws spray well away from the boat and should provide a consistently dry ride across a range of wind and wave conditions.

The Riviera 6000 Sport Yacht features a versatile layout with two, three, or four staterooms and two or three heads below decks. The broad teak swim platform raises and lowers hydraulically, aiding in launching and retrieval of an optional 10.5’ (3.2 m) inflatable tender with outboard, which can be stored in the transom garage. But that's not the case with the MAKO Pro Skiff 19 CC, which has an exceptional amount of fishing space thanks to her squared-off bow, yet floats in just 9" (.48 m) of water and has a huge load capacity. Complete with a 115-Mercury FourStroke and a galvanized trailer, this well-equipped Skiff goes for $22,995.

Many boatmen with miles of saltwater under their Top-siders consider boats on the cusp of 30 feet to be just the right combination of size, cost and manageability. Nowhere is this more true than with the four center-consoles we compare in this roundup. Each member of this quartet is as nimble as most gamefish, can venture offshore safely (use your weather sense, of course) and get home in a hurry if necessary, is easy to handle around the marina, but demands very little time or money in upkeep. When the fishing's over each boat can be used as a family cruiser -- although one of them is better at this than the others. To find out which one, read on.
