Brief Summary

Boat Show Preview Only...not a test. See Preview Video. Copy below is press release from Pursuit.

Pursuit Boats proudly introduces its latest sport fishing boat, a high performance center console built to excel in hard core fishing environments.

The 3480 Center Console is the most recent addition to the 2005 Pursuit model line incorporating new construction technology and design catering to a more enthusiastic offshore fisherman. Pursuit incorporated a notched transom design combined with a 24.5-degree deadrise and three-piece construction that delivers higher top end speeds and increased performance in adverse offshore conditions while fishing or running. In addition, the stringer system and hull, deck and cap joints are fastened with premium components and bonding materials. The result is a high performance fishing machine classically styled and ready for the challenge of any serious angler.

Key Features

Immediately recognizable is the classic shear without a raised bow rail. The gunwale mounted hardware including wastewater, freshwater and fuel fills are flush mounted with premium stainless pop-up style cleats and navigation lights. The bow rail is recessed on the interior of the gunwale cap. The gunwale is fully bolstered from bow to stern with deep cushioned heavy-duty vinyl emblazoned with the Pursuit logo. Starboard under-gunwale rod racks hold gaffs and other gear securely out of the way of on-deck activities.

The console, leaning post and transom areas continue to support the boat’s fishing function. The console houses an optional marine head and convenient access to batteries, oil fills and key rigging all within arms reach. The leaning post comes complete with a standard 55-gallon live well and tackle storage built into the top and sides of the fiberglass part. Sit or lean in the captain and crew seats, which quickly convert from a full sit-down chair to a side supporting leaning area when traveling in rough seas at higher speed. The helm, complete with stainless wheel, offers enough room for the big color machines, autopilot and radios. If you rig the boat with Pursuit’s custom optional t-top with surfboard style hardtop, you gain one more overhead box perfect for a second radio and redundant electronics.

The t-top features a total of nine premium rod holders and is constructed of oversized aluminum with strategically placed handholds and plates for rigging. An optional 35-gallon livewell recessed in the transom is available for more live bait. The transom door and gate are straight off a custom inboard sportfish, adding both styling and functionality.

The deck is wide open, fore and aft, with large channels outboard and under the gunwales designed to flush water quickly. Pursuit’s diamond pattern non-skid deck design keeps your feet where you want them when it gets sloppy. Four large insulated, gasketed boxes hold your catch, ice and gear. Three additional hatches open to reveal forward storage and access to critical mechanical systems. The aft-most hatch allows convenient access to pumps, macerators and pickups.

A coffin box, forward seating and transom seating along with additional tackle storage are a few of the premium options that consumers will consider before completing their purchase.

According to Pursuit Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Paul Perry, “The best advice I can give potential customers is to order a 3480 Center Console as soon as possible. We are currently looking at next year’s production to see what possibility we have in increasing the delivery time of this exciting new model. Our order back log is very impressive.”
