Brief Summary

The Merry Fisher 755 Marlin lines are somewhat unusual in North American waters, but are increasingly seen in Northern Europe. She's for boaters who want the weather protection and much of the utility of a larger cabin boat or express, without the financial outlay that such a boat requires. Add the optional cushions in the compact trunk cabin, and she can overnight two, and a dinette table is handy for lunch in the cockpit, while the seat in the front of the wheelhouse opens into a sun lounge. Two- or three-door access to the cabin is available.

    Captain's Report

Jeanneau Merry Fisher 755 Marlin Running
At 23’9” (7.25 m) long with a single outboard up to 200-hp, the Merry Fisher 755 Marlin can cruise, fish or even tow tubes and skiers.

    Mission Statement

The Merry Fisher 755 Marlin is designed to appeal to anglers and cruisers alike with space in the cockpit and bow that lends itself to entertaining guests. The enclosed pilothouse should encourage three-season boating, and maybe even four-season boating for the gung-ho. With a 9’2” beam, she’s wider than most walkaround-style boats built in the U.S. of this length. The Merry Fisher 755 Marlin has a single outboard with max power rated at 200 hp. Clearly, this is a vessel for boaters who want to have the weather protection and much of the utility of a larger cabin cruiser or hardtop express, without the obvious cash outlay that such a boat requires. It is easy for us to picture this boat used by fishermen from San Francisco Bay to Nome, Alaska and everywhere in between. Likewise in other places on earth in high – and low – latitudes. She is suited for places like Northern Europe, Greenland and the Chilean Inside Passage. Fishermen on the American East Coast all the way up to the Canadian Maritimes can use this boat to lengthen their season.

Jeanneau Merry Fisher 755 Marlin Profile
With its cabin providing protection and a V-bottom hull design, the Merry Fisher 755 Marlin should be able to handle a variety of conditions and seasons.
Jeanneau Merry Fisher 755 Marlin Profile

The aft sliding cockpit bench is an option on this model. For those wanting to use the boat for cruising or entertaining all of this seating will be welcome. Jeanneau Merry Fisher 755 Marlin Aft Window

    Symmetrical side decks

that are 11” wide lead to the bow seating area, which has small dedicated spots on each side of the draining anchor locker that some might be able to use for sitting. A bench on the leading edge of the trunk cabin has optional padded seating for two. Bow rails are in reach for those seated on the forward spots and there are cup holders on each side of the bench seat.

Jeanneau Merry Fisher 755 Marlin Running Shot
The deep cockpit and tall deck rails provide security for moving forward on the Merry Fisher 755 Marlin’s side decks.

    The pilothouse layout

in the Merry Fisher 755 Marlin varies depending on which version buyers choose, the Two Door or Three Door model. The former comes with the cockpit table standard while in the latter, the table is an option. In both versions, she comes standard with storage in the seat bases, overhead lights and two bucket seats for the captain and co-pilot.

    The Galley

is located abaft the port side bucket seat and it comes with a sink and space for a removable gas stove.

Jeanneau Merry Fisher 755 Marlin Fold Up Bolsters
Fold up bolsters on the bucket seats give the driver and co-pilot the option of standing or sitting.
Jeanneau Merry Fisher 755 Marlin Table
The table comes standard in this layout, which Jeanneau calls the “Two Door.” It’s an option with the “Three Door,” which has a full glass sliding door aft.

A central companionway leads below decks to the cabin, which comes standard with an overhead hatch, storage and a dedicated spot for a chemical toilet.

Jeanneau Merry Fisher 755 Marlin Berth
For a couple looking to do some overnighting, optional cushions fill in the bow cabin.
Jeanneau Merry Fisher 755 Marlin Berth without Filler Cushion
Remove the center filler cushion and two people can sit facing each other. The head would be stored beneath the square cushion just ahead.

    Power and Performance

We have not run the Merry Fisher 755 Marlin so we don’t have performance numbers. Maximum power for the 3,858-pound 23’9”-long monohull is 200-hp, which should be plenty of oomph to serve for fishing, cruising and toy-towing duties.

All Jeanneau models are built using resin-infusion and vacuum bagging for proper resin distribution. This prevents over-saturating the laminate and creates the strongest bond with the fiberglass and end-grain balsa coring. In addition to strengthening the hull, the balsa coring improves sound-deadening and saves lots of weight.

Jeanneau Merry Fisher 755 Marlin Aerial Run
With the port side fold out bench seat, the cockpit has seating for four people, plus storage in two in-sole lockers.
