Captain's Report

The NXT24 is the largest boat in MasterCraft’s multi-use series of boats.

MasterCraft Boat Company introduced the NXT24 last Wednesday. The new model expands the company’s lineup to 13 boats and is the third and largest entry in the NXT series. She has seating for 16 with convertible loungers in the bow and cockpit plus 158 cubic feet (4.47 cubic meters) of storage, so there’s space for everybody’s gear.

Family Focused

Standard equipment includes the port-side pass-through to the bow seating area, which is more inviting because of MasterCraft’s picklefork design that carries the boat’s 8’6” (2.59 m)  beam farther forward. Manufacturer specifications list the interior width at 6’10” (2.08 m). The ZFT2 tower folds down easily and has board racks. Fuel capacity is 65 gallons (246 liters) and the boat weighs 5,000 lbs. (2,267.96 kg). Draft is listed at 29” (73.6 cm).

There’s seating for 16 in the NXT24’s cockpit and bow and lots of storage, too.

Notice the extra-wide backrest on the port console so observers will be comfortable watching the action at the end of the towrope.

The NXT24 is available with MasterCraft’s GEN2 Surf System that can add 2,600 lbs. (1,179.3 kg) to create custom wakes for riders of different styles, skill levels and size. She can also be equipped with MasterCraft’s DockStar Handling System to make her easier to handle around the docks. Other options include CoolFeel technology and the Klipsch Premium audio system.

The stern has a full-width sunpad and there’s access to the engine and ballast system underneath.

“Consumers are demanding larger, high-performance tow boats at an accessible price point,” said Fred Brightbill, CEO and chairman of MasterCraft Boat Holdings Inc. “We’re excited to build off that momentum with the new NXT24, giving customers more surf performance, more room and the trusted MasterCraft quality in a larger, attractively priced 24’ (7.32 m) boat.”

Retail pricing starts at $82,995 and MasterCraft says a “well-equipped” NXT24 prices out at $92,995.

MasterCraft maintains the boat’s freeboard from bow to stern, which should create good depth in the cockpit and bow.
