Cruisers Yachts 60 Cantius:
39 MPH WOT Speed

Cruisers Yachts 60 Cantius
When we tested the Cruisers Yachts 60 Cantius motoryacht this summer in Sturgeon Bay, WI we recorded a top speed of 39.0 mph in flat water. She was powered by twin 725-hp Volvo Penta IPS950 systems.

The Cruisers Yachts 60 Cantius express motoryacht was first launched in July and is the one of the largest express boats built in the U.S. and is certainly the newest. We found her performance noteworthy for such a large vessel. Her best cruise speed was 26 mph at 2000 rpm where she has a range of 304 statute miles getting better than .6 mpg. Pull her back to 19.6 mph and she has a range of 327 statute miles with a 10% fuel reserve. That means she can go from Chicago to Mackinac Island, or from New York City to Nantucket, or even from Miami to Nassau and back – on a single tank of fuel with a 10% reserve. But that is only part of her story. Her interior is one of the most modern and innovative that we have seen built in America. More...

Formula 290 Bowrider:
Bowrider Sportboat w/ Swagger

Formula 290 Bowrider
The new Formula 290 Bowrider looks as good as she handles, as demonstrated in this picture.

The Formula 290 Bowrider is an upscale bowrider/sportboat with the company's signature level of fit-and-finish -- to say nothing of sizzle. Wood-grain vinyl adds eye appeal to the oversized swim platform, as well as being easy on feet. The innovative stern platform/reboarding ladder is a broad, three-part fold-down that makes it far easier to get back aboard than a standard ladder, as well as providing a place to relax in the water. Scarab 215 HO Impulse:
Multi-Mode, Twin-Jet Sportboat

Scarab 215 HO Impulse
Both the styling and the performance of the Scarab 215 HO Impulse is hard to ignore.

Like most jetboats, the Scarab 215 HO Impulse is ridiculously quick off the line (just 1.8 seconds to plane!) and fun to drive due to incredible maneuverability. The Rotax twin jets include a docking mode that keeps rpms down no matter what the throttle position, a ski mode allowing for pre-set rpm levels, and a cruise mode, allowing speed settings independent of the throttle. Incremental adjustments can be made with the toggle switch. More...

Sea Ray 270 Sundeck OB:
Large Deckboat w/ Verado OB Power

Sea Ray 270 Sundeck OB
Handsome two-tone vinyl with diamond-stitching adds appeal to the cockpit of the Sea Ray 270 Sundeck OB.

The unique design of the premium-grade Sea Ray 270 Sundeck OB includes a full swim platform, with the Verado outboard bolted aft on the centerline. A bit of useful space is lost here, but the agility, light weight and performance of the outboard counterbalances that. By slightly narrowing the gunwales, designers are able to offer the aft cockpit a full 7' (2.13 m) wide, adding a roomy feel to this 15-passenger deckboat. Lots of polished 316 stainless steel, premium-grade upholstery and multi-tone finishes mark her as a cut above many others. More...

Lots of high-gloss teak cabinetry and leather finishes highlight the interior of the Maritimo M58. The company's signature enclosed flybridge adds extra space for entertaining topside, and a teak-decked rear patio provides a shaded exterior area to enjoy sundowns and ocean breezes. The three-across sliding doors on the main deck open fully to allow a seamless transition to the interior and the main salon. More...

Grady-White Freedom 275:
Offshore Fishing Machine with Extras

Grady-White Freedom 275
With dual consoles and tall windshields, the Grady-White Freedom 275 keeps those at the helm dry, even in sloppy offshore conditions.

With twin 200-hp Yamaha 4-stroke outboards, the Grady-White Freedom 275 gets on plane in 6.5 seconds and reaches 30 mph in 7.9 seconds. Top speed was 48.9 mph -- buyers who want more can opt for up to twin 250s. Mercury Marine Verado 350:
More Power and Less Weight

Mercury Marine Verado 350
The Mercury Marine Verado 350 V6 outboard is engineered to deliver the torque to push big, heavily-loaded pontoon boats and offshore boats without adding excessive weight at the transom.

The Mercury Marine Verado 350 pulls 350 horsepower from its 2.6-liter in-line six-cylinder block, with considerable help from an intercooled supercharger and an advanced engine computer. Larger valves, larger injectors, a more aggressive profile for the cams, and improved air induction also add to the horsepower. Note that despite the jump in power, this engine still weighs in at 668 lbs. (303 kg), nearly 95 lbs. (43 kg) less than the only competing outboard of similar output. More...

World Cat 230CC:
Shallow-Running Easy-Riding Twin Hull

World Cat 230CC
The World Cat 230CC offers good performance with mid-range outboards. Her shallow draft makes her a good inshore fishing platform, while plenty of freeboard and the sharp twin hulls make her offshore capable.

The World Cat 230CC combines the shallow-water capabilities of a bay boat (with a draft of just 9''/0.23 m) with the wave-softening design of a catamaran, making her a good all-around fishing boat for anglers who chase fish both inside and outside the inlet. Independent fuel and electrical systems give her twin-engine set-up the redundancy that is so reassuring on a boat used regularly far from the marina. With twin 115-outboards, she was very quick to plane, just 2.6 seconds, and reached a top speed of 44.6 mph. More...

Bayliner 195 Deck Boat:
Well-Equipped and Competitively-Priced

Bayliner 195 Deck Boat
The Bayliner 195 Deck Boat is shown here with the optional wraparound windshield and the Flight Series upgrade, which includes the wakeboard tower and extended swim platform with SeaDek covering.

The transom width lounge at the stern of the Bayliner 195 Deck Boat has a flip-up backrest that converts it into a chaise lounge seat, and this section also acts to close off the swim platform from the cockpit, a safety feature when children are aboard. The Bimini top comes standard with a changing curtain so whether the head option is selected or not, there is a place for privacy. The squared-off bow provides extra seating up front. More...

NITRO ZV18:
Multi-Species Fish Boat

NITRO ZV18
The NITRO ZV18 is a turn-key multi-species boat with freeboard designed for big lakes. An optional wraparound windshield is available for the dual consoles.

The NITRO ZV18 is a multi-species fishing boat, with considerably more weight and freeboard than the typical bass boat of this LOA. This means performance is a compromise between maximum speed and a dry, safe ride in the rough waters typical on big northern lakes. Powered by a 200-hp Mercury OptiMax turning an 18" pitch Enertia prop, she topped out at 46.5 mph, and delivered her best cruise at 22.8 mph and 4.0 mpg at 3000 rpms. After our test, Tracker found corrosion on the test prop. When they re-ran the boat with a 14-1/2'' x 18'' Entertia propeller, Tracker technicians hit a top speed at 51.9 mph at 5740 rpm. And found their best cruise at 3500 rpm.  She got on plane quickly in just 3.4 seconds. More...

Boston Whaler 270 Dauntless:
Family-Friendly Offshore CC

Boston Whaler 270 Dauntless
The Boston Whaler 270 Dauntless is positioned as a family-friendly fishing center console, with enough length, beam and fuel capacity (150 gallons/ 568 L) to operate well offshore in reasonable weather.

The Boston Whaler 270 Dauntless carries her beam well forward, adding lounging and fishing space at the bow. The aft end of the V-shaped seats lift up to form forward-facing loungers, and an optional bow table transforms the bow into an al fresco dining area. One of the more unique options is the "swim patio", which turns the hull-side door into a mini-swim-platform amidships. Production models will include a boarding ladder, according to the company, and both an audio alarm and an ignition lockout prevent taking off while it's deployed. More...
