2 New Doral Bow Riders

Doral is introducing two new sportboats
at the Montreal Boat Show (Jan. 28-Feb. 2) and the Miami Boat Show (Feb. 11-16).
Doral is Canada’s answer to Formula and Cobalt. Both boats have a 20-degree deadrise,
enclosed head, self-draining cockpit, balsa-cored hulls and interior glass liners
that serve double-duty as longitudinal and transverse stringers.

Located in Quebec, Canada, Doral positions its boats' designs halfway between Europe
and America. The two new sportboat models have European exterior styling and graphics
with American interiors and amenities – or, in our opinion, the best of both worlds.
Both boats have an 8’6” beam, with the 235 measuring 23’7” long and the 265 measuring 26’6” long. The
boats weigh 4600 lbs. and 4700 lbs. respectively, which is right on the button for
high-quality sportboats of this size.

Doral Head

The Dorals
have nice head compartments and vanities for this size range.

Both boats have bucket seats with flip-up “bolsters,” stereo sound controls on the
steering wheel like your BMW or Audi, good-sized head compartments with a small
sink, vanity and opening portlight.

Both models come standard with carpet that simulates teak, but you can get real
teak on the cockpit soles and swim platform, or you can order Nuteak. Other options
include a nav package, premier sound system and remotes at the transom.

these two boats, visit Doral’s website…

Doral Carpet
Note the classy carpet
and tinted transom door.

Doral Plug
This is the plug being
made for the 265 hull. All fiberglass boats start this way.

Note the stations in the bow and the flare. This helps keep the boat dry.

Doral Sanding
Once the plug is completely
planked it is then sanded smooth before layers of fiberglass are applied, which
in turn are sanded repeatedly and polished to create a perfect plug with which to
make the mold.

Doral Mold
This is the mold for the
interior liner. The fiberglass liner bottom made on this mold will be bonded

to the hull to provide stiffness and strength. The surface of this part is made
of gelcoat

which provides smooth, clean interior compartments for storage.

Doral drawings
These drawings show how the interior liner
made on the mold above fits into the hull.
