Tahoe’s Q7i Extreme edition has a LOA of 20’6” (6.25 m), a beam of 96” (244 cm), and a draft of 23” (58.4 cm).
The mission of the Tahoe Q7i is to provide the best of the runabout lineup with high performance looks and all the features the company has to offer. The Extreme package optional add-ons increases the watersports capabilities that accompany its sporty handling.

The Q7i Extreme edition has a length overall of 20'6" (6.25 m), a beam of 96” (244 cm), and a draft of 23” (58.4 cm). With an empty weight of 3,031 lbs. (1,375 kg), full fuel and two people onboard we had an estimated test weight of 3,661 lbs. (1,661 kg).
With the 260-hp 5.0 MPI MerCruiser engine turning an Alpha drive with a 14.5 x 19 Black Max propeller we reached a top speed of 53.7 mph at 5250 rpm. At that speed we were burning 22 gph giving us a range of 77 miles. Best cruise came in at 2500 rpm and 24 mph. That speed reduced the fuel burn to only 5.1 gph which the Tahoe Q7i could keep up for 6 hours and 12 minutes or 148 miles.
Tahoe created a good looking helm that includes full instrumentation, waterproof switches, a simulated wood trimmed steering wheel mounted to a tilt base, and plenty of leg room under the console.
We had a quick time to plane of only 2.9 seconds, accelerated to 20 mph in 5.8 seconds, 30 mph in 7.7 seconds, 40 in 10.8 seconds and continued accelerating through 50 mph and 17.1 seconds.
The engine hatch is raised by releasing a small latch. The installation leaves plenty of room to the sides for climbing in doing both light and heavy maintenance.
Upon accelerating, the bow comes up 15-degrees and doesn't stay there very long as she's quick to plane. She doesn't require a lot of trim, just bring the needle out to the one quarter mark to get her into her proper running attitude. Any more trim will induce bow oscillation and a couple of clicks back down will have her right back where she needs to be at about a 3-degree bow high attitude.
She turns like she's on rails showing no sign of slipping or falling off the turn. Normal turns have her leaning roughly 14-degrees but high-performance turns can crank around to little more than that. She's very responsive to the helm, so feel free to keep a light hand on the helm. When taking power off she settles back into the water stern first.
In normal turns the Q7i leans only 14-degrees into the turns, remaining comfortable throughout.
She cuts cleanly through waves with no pounding whatsoever. Notice how there's hardly any spray.
Because the Q7i is clearly made for watersports, and the Extreme package only exemplifies that even more, let's start with its most distinguishing feature… the optional wakeboard tower.
As part of the Extreme package the added optional wakeboard tower comes in black, and has a custom fitted Bimini. It really adds to the profile as well as the functionality of the Q7i and it's collapsible so the boat can still fit in a garage. There's an additional tow point at the stern as well as wet storage in the swim platform.
The optional tower includes a custom Bimini top and an elevated tow point. Board racks are available.
Extreme graphics, upgraded wheel, and the silver and black consoles are among the features included in the optional Extreme package. The premium sound system with the Bluetooth-capable stereo is standard.
The sun pad is low enough to serve as a comfortable seat. This turns the area into a staging area for putting on boards or for transitioning onto the tube. There's wet storage to both sides and the three-step reboarding ladder is to starboard. Notice the raised grab handles.
Overall, the layout of the Q7i is typical of the sportboat seating theme. Swivel bucket seats are behind each of the consoles with four across seating at the aft end of the cockpit. A sun pad lies over the engine cover. The bow features V-seating ahead of the walkthrough windshield.

The port console is well laid out with a self draining cooler, two stainless drink holders, a recessed area for putting stuff that includes a nonskid surface, a premium stereo with Bluetooth streaming audio and over to the left is a 12V supply.
The sole storage hatch is ventilated and the compartment itself runs well up into the bow area.
The bucket seats swivel around to form an intimate conversational atmosphere.
The aft end of the cockpit consists of four across bench seating.
The seat cushion retracts under the walkthrough to expose the non-skid step. Underneath is molded storage.
The exposed area of the bulwarks is huge, thanks to the cockpit depth. This makes a great place to store life jackets behind the bungee cord.
The seating includes wraparound padded bolsters for added comfort. The usual accommodations for storage are underneath.
The forward seat cushion lifts to reveal a non-skid step underneath.
The Tahoe Q7i represents one of the best of Tahoe’s lineup and she’s not only a great handling boat but a great looking boat, especially with the Extreme upgrades. She’s also priced well, starting at $31,995 with a MerCruiser 4.3 MPI 220-hp ECT, complete with a color matched trailer. The Extreme edition costs extra.
