All fuel consumption numbers are the total for all engines in the boat. Speeds are measured with Stalker ProSports radar gun or GPS. Fuel consumption (gallons per hour) measured with Floscan digital fuel-flow meter or by on-board factory-installed diagnostic instruments. Range is based on 90% of published fuel capacity. Sound levels determined using Radio Shack digital decibel meter on A scale. 68 dBA is the level of normal conversation. Time to plane is measured from start of acceleration to formation of rooster tail behind boat.

    Captain's Report

    Seaswirl Striper 3301 CC

Hardcore Fishability Standard….Bait and Weather OptionalBy Capt. Robert SmithStarting in 1955, Seaswirl began learning about what a boater wants in a solid offshore capable boat and today’s design innovations, durability and fishability are proof they listen. The Striper 3301 combines that fishability with a cabin comfortable enough to take the family along or bring along all your buddies to bunk up and fish early.

Starting on the stern, the 3301 has a broad beam integral swim platform with the engine splashwell separating the port and starboard sides. In the splashwell is a handy washdown that is part of a standard washdown system on the boat. The dive ladder sets up in seconds on the starboard side for a cool dip or to come back on board after a little spear fishing. A transom shower is next to the walkthrough to rinse off and a courtesy light is also here for boarding at night. The light switch and the macerator pump switch for the fish box is next to the door. Over on the port side you have power for kite reels and trolling gears as well as the macerator pump for this side. In the port corner is a large livewell/baitwell with light and pump.

Lots of Storage SpaceOne of the best seats in the house is the aft fold-away seat which is super simple to set up. Lift it up, and you have access to mechanicals in the aft wall. Lift a floor panel and now you have unprecedented access to the standard 5kw generator and batteries. Twin fish boxes in the floor will keep you catch ready for weigh-in or for the prep table for dinner. Lids are finished and gasketed for rattle-free operation. They also have long lasting stainless steel lift rods. The aft cockpit is wide open for tangle free casting. Gunwale tops are wide enough to add trolling gear and include two flush mount rod holders. Under the gunwales are rod racks for your favorite rigs and on the port side is another washdown connection.

Moving forward, the box behind the companion seat will go through a little change in the future. Currently, it is a bait station with cutting board top and a knife, tool and hook organizer rack. Currently under the top is another fish box, but future versions will have this as a sink. Over behind the helm seat is another bench seat which can be converted to a livewell or optional fish box.

    Seaswirl Striper 3301 CC

Comfortable Helm StationThe companion seat station has three tackle organizers and a drawer in the end. The crescent shaped seat will comfortably seat two or three and had twin drink holders and another tip out bin underneath. In the port wall is a handy 12-volt socket so the navigator can use a portable GPS or you can bring on other portable gear for enjoyment. Over at the helm, the dash is going to go through an evolution as well. Even though it has a large face panel with room for a flat screen display, they are going to remold the helm so you can mount twin displays in the future. Currently, they have the Yamaha digital gauges lined up the left side of the panel with rocker control switches grouped to the left. The three spoke wheel has hydraulic assisted steering with a speed knob for close-quarters control. Hydraulic trim tabs are also standard. The helm seat will also change on future models. Currently it has a large backrest that continues around to form an armrest, bolster seat and flip down footrest. In the future the seat will expand into a large bench seat for more comfort.

Access to the BowSteps are molded into the dash for quick access forward. Currently, the overhead hang is tight, making this the least desirable way to go forward, but a future design in the T-top will make it more comfortable to go forward. On the bow is an anchor pulpit, high railing and concealed standard anchor windlass with chain and line. The cabin top surface has aggressive grip and a large hatch for light and air in the cabin.

Overnights— No Problem HereThe cabin space is plenty large for a boat this size. Heading into the cabin, you’ll notice one advantage of outboards being that a mid-cabin fits neatly under the cockpit. This floor level berth has reading lights and padding so two adults can slip in for a nap or the kids can enjoy their own space. The galley is situated on the port side. Upper cabinets house the power distribution panel with an MP3 jack and 12-volt socket for portable players. Also in the upper cabinets is a microwave oven. The countertop has a covered sink and single-burner cooktop with a Norcold refrigerator built in below. Future versions will include a stack of three drawers next to the refrigerator for utensils and tools.

    Seaswirl Striper 3301 CC

The forward dinette converts into a berth. A really cool feature when you take out the guys for an overnighter, is that the seat backs of the berth flip up to make two single bunks! If you add a TV, it gets mounted above the mid-cabin in full view of everyone from the galley to the V-berth. At the starboard end of the dinette is a small hanging closet with a drawer for clothes. The stand-up head has a vanity with pull out shower wand and ceramic toilet. Future versions of the head will have a countertop for the vanity matching the counter in the galley.

Specifications and PerformanceThe 3301 measures 33 feet 5 inches length overall with a beam of 11 feet. She weighs in at 10,700lbs and carries 347 gallons of fuel for a great off-shore trip. She only needs 15” draft with her engine trimmed up and 31” with the engines trimmed down. For those trips, she carries 38 gallons of fresh water for cooking and showers.I tested the Striper 3301 in the IntraCoastal Waterways off Sarasota, Florida and was impressed with her quiet ride and smooth handling. In the heavier chop, she seemed a little stiffer, but still a comfortable ride without spray. The 3301 accelerated smoothly, and was on plane in 5 seconds and up to 30 mph in only 8 seconds. Her cruise speed was 30.6 mph for a range of 459 miles and her top speed registered 46.5 mph.
