The Rinker Express Cruiser 360 is designed for buyers who are looking for a complete package express cruiser that can hit the water upon delivery. With standard features like a complete beverage station with icemaker and refrigerator, helm station with standard chartplotter and VHF, and an impressive cabin with complete galley, optional private forward berth, and two additional pull-out berths -- all one needs is a family or group of friends to spend the weekend with. The buyer also has the choice of MerCruiser gasoline, or Volvo Penta diesel configurations, depending on mission and port destination.
• Spotlight- rail mounted remote
A standard windlass with built-in foot controls at the bow connect to 130’ of line with 30’ of chain. When retracted the anchor rode stores below deck keeping the foredeck clean and uncluttered.
A rail mounted remote spotlight is found directly forward above the windlass, making night navigation and slip maneuvering significantly easier. This feature is often an after market addition, but in the case of Rinker, it’s standard equipment.
From the bow, the cockpit can be accessed through an opening windshield. Stepping down through a tinted and curved safety glass windshield we’re welcomed with standard snap-in carpet, an L-shaped seat to port and an extended captain’s chair with standard bolster to starboard. Moving aft, U-shaped seating with a standard removable pedestal table creates a space for entertaining guests and serving refreshments. An optional teakwood upgrade is available for the pedestal table should the buyer be interested in aesthetics. The U-shaped seating also offers an optional filler cushion for lounging throughout the day.
A standard arch support contains an optional radar, cabin TV/DVD player and TV antenna. On the underside we find built-in LED lights adding to the functionality of the arch. A unique feature to Rinker is the folding arch hinge that allows the entire arch to fold forward therein decreasing overhead clearance, and making bridge passage more accessible. Rinker also includes a standard Bimini top with boot, as well as a full camper enclosure for those cool evenings. Should the buyer be interested in a larger hardtop Rinker offers an enclosure without windows, as well as hardtop featuring aluminum, lights and built in speakers.
The Rinker Express Cruiser 360 comes standard with a Sony BTMEXM70BT head unit featuring a CD player, dual USB ports, Bluetooth, and removable faceplate. The entertainment configuration includes Sirius Satellite Radio, built in remote at the transom, as well as an upgrade to Sony speakers located in the cockpit and cabin.
One of our favorite features on this boat is the refreshment station located directly across from the U-shaped seating aft. The station is finished with a Corian countertop offering plenty of room for serving fruits and snacks throughout the day. The actual station includes all of the following:
If that’s not enough entertainment value, the builder also offers an optional platform mounted grill on the transom within easy reach of the refreshment station. Remember all of these components are located in the cockpit and are separate from the galley below.
Sitting at the helm we find an angled footrest, five-position tilt steering, and an extended captain’s seat with bolster -- all adding to the ergonomics of the helm. Dual stainless steel cup holders on either side of the wheel and a 12V outlet to the right are perfect for storing a cold drink, or holding/charging a cell phone. To the left we find a stereo remote as well as backlit labeled rocker switches with fuses all positioned directly below for easy replacement.
A low profile dash with a standard Richie compass mounted in direct sightlines of the helmsman allows one to view out and down rather than up and out. Directly below a Raymarine C-95 chartplotter with optional radar capability displays all the information necessary for navigating to any destination of choice.
Binnacle-mounted digital throttle controls are positioned closely to the wheel, allowing for a constant hand on both components. An optional joystick system depending on power configuration is available. For those boaters who are more traditional in their approach an optional bow thruster is also available rather than the joystick control.
Stepping down into the cabin we’re greeted with beams of light through the side windows and hatches delivering an open airy feel. Headroom is 7’ (2.13 m). Standard hardwood flooring throughout the cabin creates an open flow throughout, and a custom multi-function couch also serves as a dining area or double berth. A 16,000 BTU HVAC system is standard. When the party is over, a built-in central vacuum system conveniently cleans up all debris, readying the Express Cruiser 360 for her next journey.
On the port side we find a complete galley with custom Brazil wood cabinetry from deck to overhead as well as Corian countertops. Four LED lights mounted above provide abundant light, and the hatch directly forward provides added airflow. When dinner is ready a removable dinette with designated storage locks securely in place, allowing the custom sofa to double as seating for a family meal. The galley also contains a standard dual burner electric stove, additional refrigerator, and microwave. All the buyer needs is food and utensils.
Stepping through the salon we find an optional private forward stateroom (standard configuration includes privacy curtain) with standard built-in flatscreen TV. The berth is designed as an island with dual access from either side. A custom memory foam mattress with fitted cover and pillow package creates a relaxing space for the captain after a long day at sea. A forward hatch and multiple opening port lights has screens. We also like the built-in LED lighting above and added storage at the head of the bed.
The head is located on the port side directly before the galley allowing easy access for guests entering from the main deck. Walking into the head we’re greeted with a porthole, Corian countertops that match the galley, cabinetry above and built-in towel racks. HVAC vents are located in the head and forward stateroom allowing for continuous airflow and temperature regulation throughout. A TECMA easy-flush porcelain toilet with “big orange” holding tank allow for longer journeys before pump-out. Possibly our favorite feature of the head is the shower with a curved sliding door, creating an efficient use of the space, and allowing the buyer to enjoy a normal shower without the cramped experience that often comes with boats in this class.
Behind the cabin steps there’s an additional couch that converts to a double berth. Pedestal mounts with table create a space for guests to watch a movie or play a board game during evening hours. Storage under the berth is perfect for weekend gear, and a hanging clothes locker above is within arm’s reach. Indirect lighting and a 110-volt outlet allow the stateroom to double as an entertainment space or additional sleeping quarters. Should the buyer be interested in TV an optional flatscreen TV with DVD player can be mounted in the aft stateroom, as well as an additional HD 32” flatscreen with DVD player in the salon.
Stepping past the U-shaped seating aft we find a walkthrough transom entrance that’s perfect for boarding from the dock. This type of entrance also lends itself well to those with weaker knees or bad backs. Finished in non-skid, buyers can be sure footed when stepping about the Express Cruiser 360 for the first time. For those interested in a classier look, Rinker also offers Versa Teak that would cover the swim platform as well as the entrance into the main cockpit. We feel the upgrade adds an element of style to the boat that sets it apart from many of its competitors.
The engine compartment is a thing of beauty with an automatic hatch lift and built-in LED lighting. Within the compartment we find a standard automatic fire extinguishing system, dual battery system with switch, and a shore power system with dual side inputs. Fuel shut-off valves, and a built-in 5 kW generator complete the package with room to spare for easy maintenance and repair. An optional 220V shore power export is also available, depending on the buyers’ mission.
The swim platform is finished in non-skid or optional Versa Teak extends past the transom and clears the sterndrive. On the port side a telescoping ladder with wide treads folds into the platform and disappears creating a flush surface for guests with bare feet. The standard transom stereo remote for the Sony head unit also allows guests to adjust music without leaving the water.
Rinker added a storage compartment right off the swim platform that's perfect for housing an emergency life raft, or inflatable dinghy. This space would also be a great place for storing fenders and additional line needed for docking or rafting up with friends.
The freshwater transom shower located on the starboard side allows guests to rinse off before re-entering the cockpit. This is a nice feature for those who plan on swimming in salt water, and then spending the night aboard or traveling to a dock and dine for dinner.
Options to Consider
The Express Cruiser 360 comes with a modest list of options depending on the buyers’ mission. With that being said there is a Preferred option group that includes:
We would also encourage those interested in the 360EC to consider the following additions:
The Rinker Express Cruiser 360 comes in a variety of engine configurations, depending on the buyers’ mission. MerCruiser, Volvo Penta, and Volvo Penta diesel are all available at various horsepower points. If the buyer were looking for fuel-efficiency we would encourage them to consider one of the Volvo Penta diesel configurations. Should the buyers’ mission focus around performance and overall top speed we would encourage them to consider twin MerCruiser 8.2 MAGs each offering 380-hp.
Rinker’s Express Cruiser 360 is an excellent “plug and play” boat, ready to hit the water upon delivery. Rinker has included everything the buyer needs for entertaining and weekend trips without having the burden of adding additional components along the way. We enjoy the well-designed cockpit that features a generous refreshment station with icemaker, refrigerator, sink and blender! With an optional grill within arms length buyers could easily entertain and serve outside without setting foot below deck. We also like the functionality of the cabin with the complete galley, optional private stateroom, and convenient head location for those on deck. For families interested in TV and entertainment, the aft stateroom and optional TV configurations add another element of entertainment for the kids after dark. Configured with dual MerCruiser 6.2 BPI, the Express Cruiser 360 will start at $248,270.
