Captain's ReportIf you think three-person watercraft are for touring only, you should know about the Kawasaki 1100 STX. The 1100’s hand-laid deep-V hull has sponsons that allow for precise cornering and a built in spray rail to keep you drier and more comfortable in the saddle. Of course, this is an easy saddle to get comfortable in to start with. Just to make sure you get three riders on board, the padded handlebars are positioned as far forward as possible. The 1,071 cc powerplant has an all-new oil- injected system, which means no premixing, and the three-constant-velocity carburetors provide smooth acceleration and excellent throttle response.Combines with the three-blade stainless steel impeller, this engine puts out 120-hp and 803 pound of thrust. That’s enough power and speed to pull a skier or wakeboarder. In fact, it’s good enough for a top speed of 52.1 mph and a leisurely cruising speed of 40 mph. And given her 14-gallon tank, the 1100 will go for 70 miles in between stops at the fuel dock. For more information call (949) 460-5688 or visit www.kawasaki.com.
