Brief Summary

Designed by Bruce Farr in collaboration with Beneteau, the First 35 is an interesting mix of modern raceboat design and traditional layout and construction. The hot ticket around the world the last two decades in offshore racing has been Bruce Farr-designed boats. And when it comes to designing and building practical cruising boats for a reasonable price, no company does it better than Beneteau. The beauty of this collaboration is that people can buy a well-built sailboat with blueblood racing lines without having to pay the exurbanite sums yards charge for custom-made raceboat designs that are essentially the same in terms of shapes, space, and function.
