In 2002 Andrew Brown and his business partner Chris Brockway bought into World Cat and quickly put the brand on the boating map as a viable alternative to the ubiquitous center console fishing monohulls. In 2009 World Cat bought Glacier Bay which had battled almost single-handedly for 23 years to make a dent in the monohull fishing market. Then, last year World Cat made two more acquisitions -- Livingston Boats and Carolina Cat -- to round out its hegemony in the world of power cats. Together, the four brands make up the "Power Cat Group" which now builds 33 different models of power catamaran from 8' to 34.' To celebrate the explosive growth of the company, the Power Cat Group is offering discounts from $1,750 to $10,000, along with travel credits and free accommodations and at any of four owner rendezvous destinations this summer for people buying its products at the Miami Boat Show.
For the last decade Andrew Brown has been the driving force behind World Cat's rise to boating prominence, and he has done it by keying strongly on customer service. In an insular industry that has always been plagued with far too many less-than-professional dealers, Brown has steadily built up a network of dedicated boat retailers who share his vision of aftermarket customer care. Recently the company announced that "to show how much we appreciate our customers, we're giving back at the Miami Boat Show." Anyone who buys a World Cat product at the show will receive free accommodations at a 2011 World Cat customer event.
People wishing to experience the ride of the 290 and 320 can visit World Cat's in-water location at the show and see for themselves what riding in a cat feels like. People visiting the Miami Show who complete a transaction on a World Cat will also receive a travel credit to one of the events, says the company.

Cat’n the Hat: The eighth annual family fishing weekend on historic Ocracoke
Island south of Hatteras on North Carolina’s Outer Banks. Held at the Anchorage Inn and Marina, it always produces family memories. September 23-25, 2011.
