Cobalt has manufactured boats for over 30 years.  The company continues to be privately held and dedicated to producing safe, reliable, and elegant boats.  Below are tests of two new models from its lineup, which ranges from 20-35 feet.

Cobalt 232

The new 232 is a great way for boaters to become a part of the Cobalt family. The engineers at Cobalt made room a top priority in this 23-foot 11-inch bowrider with an 8-foot 6-inch beam, and met their goal by maximizing storage and cockpit space.

We tested the Cobalt 232 with two different engine options.  Equipped with a 420-hp Volvo 8.1 GXi engine, the 232 hit a top speed of 56.5 mph and cruised at 32.8 mph turning 3000 rpm for a range of 137 miles. With the smaller 280-hp 5.7 Volvo GXi engine, the 232 reached 46.6 mph at wide-open-throttle and cruised most economically running 31.7 mph at 3500 rpm.

Cobalt 323
Some boaters are looking for a boat that satisfies daily adventures and accommodates the occasional weekend away.  Cobalt's new "Ultimate Dayboat," the 323, delivers great amenities and sleeping accommodations for two. On test day the 323 topped out at 55.5 mph turning 5000 rpm and when cruising at 39.2 mph at 3500 she can travel 235 miles on a full tank of fuel.
