Suzuki DF 115
main video
Suzuki’s new DF 115 (and its sister motor, the DF 90) are the first outboards in the industry to use an offset driveshaft combined with a two-stage cam which reduces the motor’s physical size yet increases overall performance. The DF 115 idles at a low 620 rpm and a larger silencer and stiffer crankcase and crankshaft reduce operating noise. A 2.59 gear ratio, large diameter prop, Multi-Point Sequential Electronic Fuel Injection and aluminum cast intake manifold help operating efficiency. Suzuki has engineered the DF 115 to pass the 2008 CARB exhaust emission standards, which results in a 65% reduction in emissions over the 2006 EPA rules.
