Nitro calls it the Z-9 CDC, but we think fishing assault vehicle may be a better name for it. The forward deck is more like an helicopter pad and every square inch of space is dedicated to well throughout tackle and gear storage. And if you like getting to your favorite spot quickly, our tests have shown it will get up and go at over 70 mph. Here is a short video where we point out what we think makes the Z-9 CDC shine.

The Nitro’s dual center console puts the Z-9 CDC in a design class all its own. The center seating arrangement accommodates round-the-boat fish-fighting capabilities of traditional stand-up center console layouts and places more weight along the boat’s centerline.
Combining helm and passenger consoles allows the operator better access to the boat’s console storage compartments and the option to stretch out a bit when running the boat solo. Note the directional, deep-set gauges for better viewing in bright sunlight and the binnacle-mounted throttle control between the seats. Some anglers will prefer the Hot Foot throttle option, which the double-wide console accommodates by offering plenty of room on the floor under the console, and the optional trim lever mounted on the wheel.
The symmetry of the CDC model is apparent from above, with livewells and storage compartments placed to allow proper balance. The bow-mounted trolling motor foot control pedal is accommodated in a recessed well.
The cushions on the two outside seats on the four-across seating slide back to reveal non-skid steps to the aft deck.
Forward of the binnacle-mounted throttle control between the Nitro’s primary seats are integrated cup holders and fill/flush controls for the twin 20 gallon livewells aft – properly labeled “up-side down” to be read by a seated operator.
Carrying an eight foot beam, the 20’ 9”-long CDC model Z-9 offers a stable fishing platform. Available by special order only, matched with a Mercury 225hp Optimax outboard and custom trailer, the rig retails for $41,995.
