We had a whirlwind week of testing in Ft. Myers/Sanibel Florida recently. U.S. Marine had their dealer meetings there and we had the chance to test many of their models, including the Trophy 2103 CC.
Trophy designed the 2103 with thoughtful engineering including a handy stern rigging and baiting system. The baitwell is a lighted VORTEX system. The area includes a sink, fish locker, and large cooler as well as a raw water washdown to keep the deck clean after hauling in a bloody catch.
She is designed for serious offshore fishing with fiberglass stringer systems and large volume deck drains. Doors and hatches are sealed and the sides are high and safe for fighting the fish in rough waters. The broad flare of the bow helps insure a dry ride while the deep V slices the heavy chop on your way to the fish. Deck and gunwales have aggressive grip surfaces for sure grip in the sloppiest of times.
Up front is an anchor roller with anchor and line locker. Rubber keepers are installed to catch the anchor and prevent chipping the finish inside the locker. A wide platform up front provides sturdy fish fighting room and seating with a fish box underneath. The helm station front has a door that takes you into a deep head compartment for the optional portable head, handy for those long days on the water.
I found there to be excellent walk-around space to fight a fish from the bow to the stern. The cockpit area has two trolling rod holders in the gunwale top along with cup holders. I wish there had been one at the helm to hold my cold beverage while testing her. Under the gunwales were rod holders for three rods, and optional combing pads help keep the thighs from getting beat up when fighting a big fish. This option includes a cover for the cooler as well. The stern has an integral swim platform with a 3-step ladder and grab rail for pulling yourself aboard from the water.

Underneath the seat box, you access two storage containers by tilting the seat forward on hinges. My test boat had the optional hydraulic style steering in a fixed position, as well as an optional T-top. A locking electronics box is overhead, and four more rocket launchers and a single fish light are along the back. The helm has room to install flat panel displays when you are ready to get serious about navigation.
Performance and Handling
This model handled very well and was a popular ride for the dealers during the meeting. She handled the intercoastal waters without a hitch and seemed very capable of rough water handling. All I had to check that against was the wakes of boats as I overtook them.
The 2103 is 21’3” length overall, 23’8” with the engine and swim platform. She is 8’6” in the beam and weighs in dry at 3504 lbs. She has a hull draft of 18” and total draft of 35”. She cruises on a deadrise of 20 degrees and has a 30-gallon baitwell capacity. She can carry up to 101 gallons of fuel in her tanks for a long day of fishing and trolling. Our model was set up as a Pro model and had the Sea Foam Green colored hull. At first I wasn’t sure I cared for it, but when I saw it underway and next to some white hulled boats, the color really grew on me.
We tested this boat with a Mercury 225 horsepower Saltwater Series outboard engine. She delivered a hole shot at 4.2 seconds on average and was up to thirty miles per hour in just 7.5 seconds. She idles well at 800 rpms, burning .6gph for a range of 532 miles. At cruise she is running at about 3500 rpms, burning 7.4gph, and at this speed you can expect to travel 338 miles on the 101-gallon tank. At top end she is using about 19.6gph and has a range of 208 miles
