Whether you want to cruise the lakes, rivers or just hang out at your favorite beach and take a dip, the 225 RE Legend will deliver you there in style and luxury.
Honda brought nine boats together on Lake Lanier in Georgia to put their 2007 model engines to the test and. Premier has been producing high quality pontoons for many years and the 225 RE Legend is no exception. Whether you want to cruise the lakes, rivers or just hang out at your favorite beach and take a dip, the 225 RE Legend will deliver you there in style and luxury. Not only do you get a luxurious ride, but you also have something left over to customize your pontoon to your specific standards.
Starting Up Front
The Premier 225 RE Legend comes with anodized and media blasted rails with side panels that are siliconed into place, then crimped to ensure rattle-free service for years to come. Spaces are at the bottom to allow good drainage and air flow under the seat bases. The docking lights and horn are mounted in the front edge of the deck to get them close to the water where they will be most effective. Topside, the cleats allow good sized lines to pass through and securely tie your boat to its dock slip. The wide bow gate allows easy passage from the dock into the bow seating lounge area.
Seating up front is comfortable and plush, they are built with hinged bottom cushions over roto-molded bases and features carpeted toe-kick space. The port lounger back is hinged to allow tall items such as fenders to be stored vertically. The roto-molded seat bases are self draining and offer a ton of storage capacity. Courtesy lights provide enough light on the floors to make sure you can get around after dark.
At the Helm
The fiberglass helm station features a storage compartment and allows for access to the electrical connections under the dash. The upper half of the opening is dedicated space for a small first aid box. Next to the driver’s seat on the starboard wall is a cargo net storage pocket for charts and magazines. Rocker control switches and a 12 volt receptacle manage power and provide a source to charge portable gear. Faria gauges have bright chrome bezels. The Kenwood stereo is mounted to the left of the wheel so the driver can control the tunes on board. The Flexsteel captain’s seat is very comfortable and features a headrest, flip arms on both sides, and seat adjustments. There is also plenty of leg room at the helm so you don’t feel cramped up while driving.
Aft Seating
Back in the aft section, is an “L” shaped lounger seating arrangement which encourages the friends and family to join you on the ride out to your favorite spot on the water. When it is time to serve snacks, you can set up a table to lay out your spread. The battery tray is located in the aft seat base and easy to access. When the sun is too strong or the rain starts, the bimini top can be set up quickly thanks in part to the quick release stainless steel fittings.
Moving on back is another gate at the stern. The back above the stern lounger offers some room to stretch out and enjoy the sun. And, when you need access, the aft section lifts to reveal the fuel tank and engine.
Specifications & Performance
The 225 RE Legend measures 22’9” length overall with a beam width of 8’6”. She weighs in at approximately 2272 lbs and rides on 25” tubes.
Honda had powered this 225 RE Legend with their all-new 75-hp 4-stroke outboard. I found this engine provided great power making the 225 RE easy to handle and her perfect for a family with young, eager drivers.
