For the discriminating boat owner that is looking for a high-class cruiser, the Atlantique 40 delivers. From the beautifully detailed interior to the clean classic Mediterranean styling you’re sure to turn heads no matter which port you choose. There’s also, comfortable and spacious overnighting accommodations for four and with plenty of cockpit and cabin space for you to entertain all your friends and family.

Back on the Stern

The swim platform on the Atlantique 40 is large and provides easy boarding. This electrical passarell is perfect when tied up to the dock. You can even use it to help lower your dinghy into the water. On the port side the Glenndining power cord makes plugging into the dock power easy, while keeping things clean. On the starboard side there is a concealed hot/cold shower, water connection, and dockside cable plug. Cranchi has also provided plenty of cleats and stainless steel railings throughout the boat for safety.

Cockpit Features

The cockpit is large and is the perfect place for setting up a table and entertaining. There is a large L-shaped bench seat here with storage below. And there’s plenty of storage over here behind the cockpit door and on the port side up here for storing lines and loose items. The stairs leading up to the bridge are large and make the climb easy.

Fly Bridge

The fly bridge is sure to be your favorite spot when cruising in nice weather. There is a U-shaped bench seat with built-in lazy Susan and plenty of railings for support when moving around. And when you’re underway this hatch closes off the stairway for safety.

The co-pilot seat features a movable backrest so you can face the rear seating or the view forward. Over at the captain’s seat, all the gauges are well laid out with everything within reach. There are simple Volvo Penta gauges, a beautiful Nardi steering wheel, switches and Morse controls to aid in the operation. The only thing I found is that while the captain’s seat swiveled, the hard plastic and minimal padding made for an uncomfortable seat. But the vantage point from this position just can’t be beat especially when in tight quarters.

Side Decks and Bow

The side decks are wide and make for easy passage to the bow. Once up here the sturdy stainless steel railing and excellent non-skid keep you secure. The bow pulpit features a concealed anchor locker with access the windlass. When at anchor there is a removable cushion that snaps on the foredeck to provide a giant sun pad.

Saloon

The saloon on the Atlantique 40 is comfortable and has many amenities that will make your cruise more enjoyable. To port there’s a small bench seat and entertainment center. There is a flat screen TV and below storage for a DVD player, storage, radio control, and a small fridge. Over to starboard is a large leather L-shaped couch with a beautiful teak table that expands to make room for more guests.

The Galley

The galley is located down two stairs from the saloon. There is excellent lighting and ventilation here and any cook will enjoy the large amount of storage space, double sink, three-burner cooktop and all the other features here.

Guest Stateroom

The hallway leading into the staterooms is bright and airy. To starboard the guest stateroom features two single berths and large hanging locker. There is also access to the lower helm electrical panel here. Across the way is the day head with sink, toilet with bench seat, standing shower and medicine cabinet for storage.

Master Stateroom and Head

The master stateroom is all the way forward and features a large island berth, which has storage below. Over to port there is a large hanging locker and lockable jewelry box. The sky hatch here provides great ventilation when at anchor and there’s good lighting with the opening portholes.

Attached to the master stateroom we find the master head. This is a spacious head with separate shower stall. The toilet also has a bench seat cover for convenience.

Engine Compartment

This boat is equipped with twin Volvo Penta TAMD 63-hp diesel engines, which are accessed through this hatch in the salon floor or through this hatch out in the cockpit. There is excellent access to all major points on the engine and I found there to be ample room while setting up our diesel test gear. The engines are well insulated and the generator is within easy reach.

• Top speed for the Cranchi Atlantique 40 is 35.1 mph (56.5 kph), burning 41. gallons per hour (gph) or 155.18 liters per hour (lph).


• Best cruise for the Cranchi Atlantique 40 is 29.7 mph (47.8 kph), and the boat gets .76 miles per gallon (mpg) or 0.32 kilometers per liter (kpl), giving the boat a cruising range of 191 miles (307.38 kilometers).
