If you look up the term “express cruiser” in the dictionary, you’ll likely see a picture of the 330 Sundancer. A classic design in express cruisers, the 330 DA has sleeping accommodations for six—two in the V-berth forward, two in the mid-cabin, and two more in the salon with its dinette table that drops down to create a double berth. V-drive transmissions compress the length of the drive train in the engine compartment, so there’s ample room under the bridge deck for a mid-cabin suitable for two adults. While there is no real privacy between the sleeping areas (the forward berth is enclosed only by a curtain), the 330 does have the seating—inside and out—to keep six adults comfortable on a weekend cruise, or a family of four very comfortable for a week. Our twin 7.4L MerCruiser V-drives delivered a top-end speed of 37.1 mph at 4250 rpm (on the fast side for a Sundancer), and best cruise of 3500 rpm yielded a speed of 30 mph and a cruising range of 189 miles.
