Rinker 250 Fiesta Vee (Not in Production)
Rinker 250 Fiesta Vee (Not in Production)
The new 250 Fiesta Vee immediately stands out as a "stretch" version of the express cruiser concept. Its uncluttered, single-level cockpit seems the size of most deckboats and its an inviting walk from swimplatform right on up to the cabin.

Key Features

You won't go wanting for seating room in the 250, which features a double-wide helm seat with flip-up bolster, wrap-around portside lounge, and nearly full-beam aft bench seat. The wetbar in the cockpit comes complete with freshwater sink, trash bin, and 25-quart Igloo cooler so no one has to run down to the galley for refreshments. Speaking of the galley, the 250's has a standard undercounter refrigerator/freezer, sink, alcohol/electric stove, and microwave oven. The dinette is fully forward with U-shaped seating for four, and the table drops down to create a double berth. A second double is located in the mid-cabin, and that, combined with a fully enclosed head/shower make the 250 Fiesta Vee an exciting new addition to your express cruiser choices.

Layout

The layout of the 250 is tremendous. She provides sleeping accommodations for four adults, a complete galley, and a roomy head with shower.

Rinker 250 Fiesta Vee (Not in Production) Captain's Report

Rinker’s 250 Fiesta Vee may just be the smallest pocket cruiser on the market. At only 25 feet, 27 feet with the extended swim platform, she is packed with features and sells for a surprisingly low price. The designers at Rinker were able to aesthetically shape this stubby cruiser with proportionate lines, given the high freeboard needed to provide headroom and space for all the amenities. And to top it off, she boasts a trailerable beam of 8 feet 6 inches. Now your cruising adventures are virtually limitless, as you can change lakes without having to use a huge tow rig.

As you board the Fiesta Vee from the stern, you will notice the extended swim platform has a recessed, telescoping boarding ladder. From here you have convenient access to the transom shower that has both hot and cold water supply. The port side transom door leads you to the 250’s cockpit were you’ll find a small wet bar to starboard. The wet bar has a sink with pressurized faucet, a concealed trash bin under the hinged counter top and finally, a removable cooler storage nook below.

Cockpit seating includes a wide aft bench seat that has considerable storage below the removable cushions. A small round table can be inserted for dining, but only the person sitting in front of the table will be able to eat comfortably. Other guests can stretch out on the long settee that is located to port. Finishing off the cockpit, are long stainless steel grab rails that are mounted along the transom and on the wet bar’s counter top.

The helm is stylish and functional. The dash is finished with simulated wood grain, and white faced, analog gauges. All engine parameters can be easily monitored and the switches are mounted just below the gauges for easy access. Accompanying the switch panel is a stereo remote and the electronic trim tab indicators. I really liked the LED readout from these indicators, they were very simple to read and use. Helm controls are supplied by MerCruiser and are mounted on the gunwale. Unfortunately, there is no armrest. A stylish, tilt steering wheel rounds out the 250’s controls. A doublewide captain’s chair provides the seating at the helm and can be adjusted fore and aft in addition to the flip up bolster. Another nice touch at the helm is the molded steps that Rinker incorporated into the dash to help facilitate access to the foredeck.

Going below deck, you will find the accommodations surprisingly roomy. Rinker did a great job utilizing the cabin space. For starters, a v-shaped settee and table provide plenty of room to dine or relax and watch TV. By lowering the table and adding filler cushions, this area converts into the main berth.

To port is a compact galley that is complete with a refrigerator, stainless steel sink, microwave oven and an alcohol stove. I would have preferred a single-burner electric cook top as opposed to the alcohol stove as a matter of convenience and safety. Directly to starboard is a hanging locker for your wardrobe and a cabinet for the TV and stereo. Just aft of the cabinet is a head that includes a small vanity with sink, storage cabinet below and a flush toilet.

And finally the 250’s aft cabin features an oversized mattress and good headroom on the portside. The aft cabin is large enough for two adults to sleep comfortable while on the hook.

The 250 Fiesta Vee is literally a home away from home, she provides sleeping accommodations for four adults, a complete galley, and a roomy head with shower. And as you know, there are many boat builders offering small cruisers these days, but few can match the space or value that I found in the 250. Like the rest of the Rinker line up, the 250 is packed with standard features that other builders charge extra for. So if you are looking to spend your weekends on the water, but don’t want to give up the comforts of home, take a look at the value packed 250 Fiesta Vee.
