Cigarette Unveils a True Champion!

Want to be first in line to pick up your card in the world’s fastest poker game played on the water? Well this new 36 Gladiator from Cigarette Racing can almost guarantee that. According to Neil Hernandez,VP of manufacturing for Cigarette, the 36 features a double stepped hull, composite construction technology and laminates, and is guaranteed to put a big smile on your face. And that smile should be nearly as wide as her 8-foot even beam that slices right through even the roughest of conditions. Cigarette is using the latest in construction technology giving the Gladiator a nimble light weight of only 7,200 pounds with the strength of a much heavier hull.

The thing that really jumps out at you with this boat is the molded bow, and that there is no hull and deck seam. The deck is glassed to the hull eliminating a rub rail and producing a stunning shape with a speed inducing appearance…..nice job Cigarette! On the foredeck you’ll find a low profile grab handle, push pin cleats for added profile, pop out running lights on the side of the cockpit cowling, and a sloping windscreen that deflects the wind over your head when running at high speeds.

The cockpit on the Gladiator is meant for serious high speed missions with two deeply seated bolstered seats for the driver and throttle man and the Zero effort throttles and shifts being placed in a sleek center mounted console.

The gauge cluster is exactly the same as that used on the racing circuit with dual heads up displays for both the driver and the throttle man. All critical circuits are instantly accessed on the console between the seats and only waterproof switches with pop up breakers are used.

The aft bench in the cockpit features great storage beneath for gear and safety equipment, a built in cooler for beverages while underway, and a lockable battery switch panel.

This incredible pair of high performance engines give this ultra high performance hull all the attitude and machismo it needs although 575-hp super charged engines are available for even more adrenaline boost.

The Mercury drives are coupled together using heavy duty stainless tie bars that ensure the drives and four blade cleavers are running true and in synch. The air intakes in the stern are aerodynamically styled and efficient while the hull sports unique graphics and the trademark Cigarette logo that is recognized worldwide.

The racing version of the Gladiator is unquestionably one of the finest race boats seen to date and features the F-16 canopy appearance and solid one piece construction. There is no cabin aboard the Gladiator. Cigarette designed the forward part of the hull to act as a unibody design so its 36’11” overall length and narrow beam of 8 feet even are almost unstoppable and unbreakable in any sea condition.

On test day we hit and incredible top end of 84.7 mph although conditions we very rough and windy. The best cruising speed was determined to be 40.6 mph turning 3000 rpm and giving us a range of nearly 250 miles based on 90 % of the 180-gallon fuel capacity. The Gladiator jumped up on top as well planning in only 8.3 seconds!

The new 36 Gladiator features a race proven double stepped hull, state of the art construction technology, and high speed offshore performance. It may just put victory in YOUR hands!
