Enjoy the sun after your exciting ride.
After coming down from a high-speed cruise, the bow offers plenty of room to sprawl out and catch some rays.
This is where the real fire comes from.
The speed enthusiast will enjoy her engine. She produces 470 horsepower and can top out at 89 mph and cruise at 55 mph. And she’s up on plane in no time.
The Firehawk 2600 is a sleek, head turning high speed cat that is well built, finely appointed, and performance oriented for the boater who has already aquired the need for speed and the desire to share it with friends and family.
Built by hand and utilizing high-grade materials and design, each Firehawk is built to order by experts, craftsman, and engineers to ensure that each boat is perfect and ready to scream across the water. The hull utilizes step technology that induces air beneath the hull thereby reducing drag and increasing speed. The step also helps to provide a cushioned ride across choppy water. The cockpit is nicely appointed with overstuffed padded seats, grab rails, and storage. The helm seat features a well designed integral throttle and gears in the right armrest, which ensures perfect engine control at all times. The dash features large easy to read gauges for quick reference and there’s even a new Gaffrig GPS speedometer to round out the already impressive instruments.
Other great features include an engine hatch/ sunpad that lifts to reveal an engine compartment that any motorsports enthusiast will drool over. Fitted with bright diamond plate stainless steel and clean designed accessories, each Firehawk can be fitted with up to 700 horsepower engines that gleam with color matched anodized and powder coated parts and bolts on power upgrades. The engine sits high and centered in the compartment, which allows for easy adjustments or servicing. All that power is coupled to a hydraulically controlled Mercury outdrive and a variety if high performance lab tested props. The stern also has a nice touch with custom powder coated dive platforms and grab rails and there’s even a trick remote radio antenna that raises when powering up the killer stereo system aboard.
There’s a lot to be said about going really fast at water level….especially with 600 horsepower at your disposal. The Firehawk 2600 gives you all this and more with a catamaran platform and an incredibly quick throttle response after the drive has locked up with the water. When you’re running with power like this, the prop has to be able to push huge amounts of water at speed. Our test boat had a 15.5” 4 blade prop with a 32” pitch and we were told it could be either a higher or lower pitch depending on the power selected. A prop with a high pitch like that takes a bit of speed before it gets a good lock in the water, thus cavitation coming out of the hole is very touchy and you’ll have to feather the throttles until it gets a sure grab in the water. Once you’re locked up…..hold on! The Firehawk 2600 will rocket you into nearly triple digit speeds in only seconds and the ride there will give you all the adrenaline you can handle. Eyewear is recommended!
If you’ve ever seen the new drag boat competitions with heavy horsepower bolted to basically a flats boat, you’ll get the idea of what this boat can do! But the Firehawk is also safe and stable. The cat design makes for a very stable and wide platform and her length allows you to run across even choppy water without beating yourself to death. I would caution you however to not go full throttle unless you are on smooth water with NO traffic. You can’t dodge or swerve at high speed and doing so will risk injury to you and others. Also be very wary of large wakes at speed as they can send you airborne or even worse make you submarine which can be a fatal disaster. Near the top end the hull seems to be floating in the air with only the drive giving directional stability, so if you want to fly, be sure your runway is very straight and long…!
But with safety in mind, the Firehawk 2600 is an easy to run, well built, and highly tuned speedster that will deliver tons of thrills and fun for you and your passengers.
