A Versatile Sportboat for the Whole Family


Sea Ray’s new 20-footer fills the space left between the company’s 182 and 210 of last year in more ways than one. With a little more oomph and a unique layout, the latest Sea Ray offers yet another option for day-trippers.


Walk-Thru Transom

The main feature that makes the 200 BR stand apart from her sisters is the walk-through transom to port which makes boarding a breeze, especially for those timid about walking over a sun pad.

Sea Ray didn’t leave off the sun pad, they just shuffled it to the starboard side. It’s easy to raise and lower thanks to gas-assisted lifts. Your guests will fight for turns to lounge on this roomy space.

At the Helm

Moving forward, the 200 features two bucket seats, both of which swivel and have flip-up bolsters when you need a higher view. Good for the captain who’s steering and for the spotter for a clear view of the skier.

The helm includes all the controls you’ll need for a fun outing -- a Lowrance depth finder, backlit instrumentation, a tilt steering wheel and tilt & trim power. They also throw in a stereo CD player to keep things lively. At the portside dash you can keep licenses and other important documents in this lockable glove box. And you can stow snacks and cold drinks below in the built-in ice chest.

While there’s lots of relaxing to be had in the cockpit, the bow is where all the action is. You can fit 4 people up there and there’s also good storage beneath the cushions.


Performance

Out on our test run the 200 demonstrated a solid performance with a top speed of 52.1 mph at 5000 rpm and a best cruise at 37.7 mph at 3000 rpm, giving us a total cruising range of 124 miles. The 200 jumped out of the hole in just 3.1 seconds and was up and roaring at 30 mph in a just 7.0 seconds.

Overall the 200 BR is a fast, and very versatile sportboat that delivers good speed and comfortable seating for as many as 10 people.
