This new addition to the Tiara lineup with its trio of Volvo IPS pod drives gives extended cruising aficionados a whole new platform of unsurpassed on-the-water living space. From the pulpit to the aft swim platform, the yacht measures 60 feet, 9 inches long and has a beam of 15 feet, 10 inches, all of which is pure opulence. She is built with all-composite stringers and end-grain Balsa core for both the hull and deck, yet still weighs in at a hefty 43,500 pounds. Despite her girth, she almost defies the laws of gravity to cruise at 33 mph, and tops out at just over 36 mph.
Inside, the yacht’s salon displays an overabundance of dazzling teak joinery and flooring, along with stunning views from the expansive, wraparound windows. An upper sitting area presents an L-shaped lounge accompanied by a pair of club chairs, ideal for conversation and cocktails, or to enjoy the flat screen TV that is concealed in a cabinet which separates the salon and helm station. From the elevated helm, a pair of ultra plush, five-way adjustable electric command chairs give access to the digital navigation and engine monitoring instrumentation. You can also control all the ship’s lighting, tank monitoring and a multitude of other systems right from the helm via Tiara’s touch screen display unit.
A few steps down, and you’re standing in what Tiara calls the “Sky Galley”. The galley is located on its own level between the upper and lower salons, providing interaction between guests in both places. A spacious counter top features a dual sink and a three-burner electric cook top. Supporting the airy feel, all the appliances are situated below the work surface and include modern, drawer style refrigerator, freezer and dishwasher.
A few more steps down, and you enter the lower salon area. This space is a bit more casual then the upper salon, with a U-shaped dinette for four and a 26 inch flat screen TV. Although the area is designed for meal time, the seating can also be converted into a berth for the evening. Conveniently located to port, is the yacht’s day head which features a second access located in the guest stateroom.
Your guests can retire for the evening in the spacious VIP stateroom at the front of the yacht. Fitted with a queen size pedestal berth with innerspring mattress, the guest stateroom offers good storage space both below the berth and above in the upper, hull side cabinets. The room is also treated to its own 20-inch LCD TV and cedar hanging locker.
Situated aft of the lower salon is the owners cabin. This stateroom features a foyer with a concealed washer/dryer unit and a handy linen closet. Across the foyer is the lavish en-suite head compartment, offering a separate shower stall with generous head room, teak seating and a glass door. The full beam master stateroom provides generous space and plenty of headroom while natural light is infused from the large windows on the hull sides. An innerspring, queen size island berth is in the center and flanked on both sides by numerous dresser drawers and a pair of cedar lined hanging lockers. A spacious vanity area and a sitting chair offer a place to read, relax or work while being entertained by the Denon stereo system and the 26-inch flat screen TV.
Topside, the aft deck incorporates a luxurious settee and high-gloss cockpit table, along with a pair of mini-bars located on either side of the sliding glass salon doors. Starboard side steps lead to the molded swim platform and jumbo sized transom locker which hides a remote controlled davit for tenders or PWC’s.
At the opposite end of the yacht, the bow has a large pulpit and ground tackle storage locker with windlass controls and shore power hook-ups.
Although the interior of the 5800 is breathtaking, the performance afforded by the Volvo IPS drives are what really set this yacht apart from the competition. The vessel handles and responds like nothing else in her class, making her not only friendly at the dock, but safer out on the open water where it really counts.
