Apart from being a comfortable ride for two the 150 has a lot of power under her hood. Her power and good performance comes from her 1,176cc power plant.
The 150 Ultra is not only Kawasaki's fastest Jet Ski, it may be the fastest production jet bike on the water today. And you won't get any faster than its hull bottom. It has a sharp entry for cutting through waves and its spray deflectors will keep you dry in rough water. Special sponsons on the back will help you turn quickly without getting launched into outer space.
Even though it's fast, it's not an uncomfortable machine to ride. The seat for 2 is soft and the padded handlebars are designed for easy steering.
But the most important piece of equipment is the 1,176-cc engine which has triple carbureators and produces 145-hp and a whopping 904 lbs. of thrust. The powerplant is also bolted to rubber mounts to reduce noise and engine vibration.
The Ultra 150 hopped onto plane instantly and hit a top speed of 60 mph during our tests, but Kawasaki says it can hit 65 mph in ideal conditions. And thanks to its big 15.3-gallon fuel tank, at normal cruise of 4500 rpm you can expect to get about 2 hours of running time between fillups.
The 150 Ultra isn't the least expensive jet bike on the water, but you get what you pay for--the high-performance engine, great hull design, and excellent fit and finish.
