The Hatteras 60 Convertible is an impressive sportfisherman that descends from a long line of classic fishing machines. She offers the best of both worlds with excellent fishing amenities, and deluxe cruising accommodations. When it comes to quality and craftsmanship Hatteras does not skimp or cut corners. The 60 Convertible is packed with a long list of standard features, top-quality materials, and is backed up by a name that has been around for 40 years.

Once aboard the 60 you’ll feel how big she really is. Her salon offers plenty of room for entertaining a party or just the wife and kids. The salon’s classic look is accented by the teak and holly sole, and rich wood cabinetry that’s used throughout the boat. A U-shaped dinette area can seat six comfortably, and the cook in the family will fall in love with the fully equipped galley to port. The galley comes complete with undercounter refrigerator and freezer drawer units, four-burner cooktop, microwave/convection oven, garbage disposal and plenty of storage space for utensils and groceries.

When it’s time to retire for the night you’ll be welcomed by three staterooms, each with their own head. The master stateroom has a queen-sized berth with cedar lined storage and hanging locker, 20-inch TV/VCR and stereo system. The other two guest staterooms are just as elegant, complete with wood paneling, a cedar lined hanging locker, stereo speakers with volume control, AC/DC light fixtures and much more.

The 60 comes standard with queen-sized beds in two of the staterooms, so if you have another couple aboard they will be getting first class accommodations.

The 60 Convertible performed extremely well with twin Cat 3412E 1400-hp diesels, and delivered a top-end speed of 40 mph at 2320 rpm, and a best cruise of 22.2 mph at 1500 rpm. This gave her a cruising range of 599 miles on a full tank of fuel. These Caterpillar engines are equipped with a patented fuel system that uses an oil pump to pressurize fuel at the injector rather than at a traditional cam-driver rocker arm. This system results in complete fuel burn and better atomization, while also meeting emission limits.

The 60’s 17-foot, 4-inch beam and 6’ draft with keel gives her the stability she needs when offshore in rough waters. Even though she’s a large boat the 60 is quite nimble and graceful when it comes to cutting turns, and she also has good maneuverability around the docks. Away from shore she owns the waters and so, it’s no wonder she’s called a battlewagon.
