The 200 CC is a solid, small, offshore fish boat with a large, raised casting platform forward, thigh-high coaming aft for support, and 16-inch side decks around the console. There is a large stowage locker, and a big livewell abaft the leaning post. The flared bow will deflect spray and the Plexiglass windscreen deflects wind over your head at high speeds. There’s a large insulated integral fishbox, storage, and several baitwell options. Port and starboard rod racks are optional. Edgewater 200 CC Captain's Report
Like all of the EdgeWaters, the 200 CC is ruggedly built, with state-of-the-art techniques and designed with veteran offshore fishermen in mind.
EdgeWater is a relatively new company started by Bob Dougherty, a veteran boat builder with over 30 years of boat experience at Boston Whaler. His goal is to build the premier offshore fishing platform. We think his boats are right up there with the best of them, and as the word of EdgeWaters’ fishability spreads, we’ll be seeing a lot of them on the fishing circuit.
The Permagrid construction system along with thick laminates and vacuum molded transom give an owner the kind of confidence he needs offshore. Also important is the fact that the company does not shave corners on hardware, so you’ve got the best that the industry has to offer. All boats in the EdgeWater line are foam-filled and unsinkable—and that’s a difference you can feel when you run the boat.
There are several things that will appeal to fishermen beyond the seaworthiness of the 200CC. First, it’s easy to get around on this boat. The platform forward is big enough for two men, and at 16-inches wide, the side decks make it easy for even a big man to get by the center console. There’s ample storage in the center console, as well as a huge insulated fishbox and a large anchor-locker forward. The 200CC also offers several livewell options for the serious anglers.
Our test boat was powered by a single 200-hp Yamaha HPDI, and jumped onto plane in three seconds flat. That’s awesome performance for a 2,100 lb boat. We recorded a top speed of 48.8 mph at 5400 rpm and best cruise speed with this engine was 24.9 mph at 3000 rpm, which provided a very economical 4.07 miles per gallon, and a range of 330 miles. The 200 CC will also go from 0-30 mph in just 6.8 seconds, just in case you like to drag race.
