Edgewater 247 CC Captain's Report
EdgeWater uses two construction techniques when building their boats — Permagrid and RAMCAP. The Permagrid construction is formed by stringers and beams that are interlocked to form opposing right angles. This structure is then bonded to the transom, hull and deck and then injected with foam to produce a vessel that is virtually made up of one piece. There is absolutely no structural wood on the boat so she’s built to take years of punishment.
Standard features include a walk-in console for a porta-potti or storage, two inwale rod racks for six rods, a raw-water washdown, a built-in leaning post, two inwale lockers for storage, a large self-draining fishbox, a baitwell system, and a small sink. Optional features include a T-top with sunbrella canvas and rocket launchers, which are great to have when fishing in offshore waters.
The helm itself features tilt-wheel hydraulic steering and enough room to mount your choice of electronics.
With a single Yamaha 250 outboard, our test boat recorded a top speed of 39.3 mph at 5400 rpm and best cruise speed of 25.3 mph at 3500 rpm. The boat showed excellent cornering abilities and the ride was smooth the whole way.
All in all, the 247 is a center console that holds her own when it comes to performance. Her V-hull delivers a smooth ride, and with her flared bow you and your crew will stay nice and dry. Whether it is fishing for fun or chasing after sailfish or wahoo, the 247CC will stand on her own when faced with the challenge.
