Regal 2400 Bowrider Captain's Report

The Regal 2400 LSR is Regal’s newest high performance design. We can’t talk about high performance or technologically advanced hulls without mentioning Regal’s state of the art FasTrac hull. This hull design is innovative and futuristic of where hull designs are going to be. The increased speed and fuel economy is monumental in the bow rider class. With Regal’s new design (the 2400 LSR) the standard for high performance and luxury has been set! Combining Regal’s FasTrac hull with a very long list of innovative features and equipment makes the 2400 LSR hard to beat!

Lets talk about some of these features, like the easy access transom door and the stern ladder. The transom door lifts up as opposed to swinging open. Immediately in front of the door you will find the stern ladder is collapsible and stows away in the starboard hatch on the swim platform. There are two other hatches on the swim platform that provide ample storage for swim toys and gear.

You will notice that the aft lounge seat is U-shaped and very well designed to accent the sculptured styling and compound curves of this boat, thus pushing the broad beam gracefully forward to allow for an extra large and comfortable bow seating arrangement. We will get to the bow in a minute; first I want to tell you about some of the cockpit features.

Let’s start with the easy access engine hatch that is located in the center of the wrap around aft lounge seat. This hatch is easy to open and gives you a lot of room to do minor repairs and or regular maintenance on the engine. On the starboard side of the aft lounge seat you find a removable igloo cooler. Lift that portion of the seat and there on the port side you will find a large storage compartment. There are convenient cup holders that are molded into the transom just forward of the swim platform.

The 2400 LSR features twin swivel bucket helm seats. A feature I found very useful is that the front portion of the seat itself folds up and creates a booster like seat and gives the captain about 6 to 8 inches of height. This increases the captain’s visibility and is great for picking up skiers or swimmers. Just forward of the port helm seat you will find the 2400’s head compartment. This head includes a fiberglass-lined enclosure, a chemical head with a porthole (very important), a sink with pressured water and more storage.

Regal has incorporated a very stylish walkthrough windshield that allows easy access to the bow and the storage compartments just forward of the helm and head. The helm is very elegant with a wood grain tilt steering wheel. The elegance of this helm does not in any way detract from its functional quality! Standard equipment includes a 12-volt accessory plug, depth finder, compass, wood grain backed switch panel and an automotive style gauge cluster. You will also find a cup holder for the captain just starboard and forward of the steering wheel.

You will find the bow a very comfortable place to hang out in all fazes of your boating experience under the bow seats are more storage compartments that are great for life vests, snorkel gear, and an anchor. The forward hatch houses an additional collapsible aluminum boarding ladder. This is great for easy access at either end of the boat especially when you have anxious kids aboard who want to go swimming.

All in all the Regal 2400 LSR is a well thought out design that incorporates innovative features and equipment with the technologically advanced FasTrac hull. This boat comes standard with a 5.7 liter Mercruiser which can reach speeds of 50 mph. She holds 62 gallons of fuel has a 36 inch draft with the drive down and a 8 foot 6 inch beam.

We were quite impressed by her features and performance out on our test drive, and would take her out for another spin any day of the week. For more information contact your local Regal dealer or visit www.regalboats.com.
