By combining the best of both worlds; a spacious deck on top and a wave slicing hull for the bottom, Larson’s new Escape blurs the line between a deckboat and a typical bowrider. The Escape also presents trademark design cues and components, making for a luxurious and stylish ride.

Larson Escape 234 I/O Captain's Report
EXCITING FAMILY LUXURY IN A SMALL PACKAGE
By Capt. Ron Svoboda
Small, Yet Robust
Spacious Layout
With room for 5 adults, the bow seating area provides ample storage below the hinged cushions and can be converted to a massive playpen or into an entertainment zone by simply installing the removable snack table. A centerline step facilitates access to the bow swim platform, and just under the step is a mini-cooler built right in. The front swim deck utilizes a large hatch, inside is a telescoping beach ladder and handy anchor locker with plenty of room for the hook and line.
The Captain and Tenniel
The boat’s distinctive helm has a faux brushed aluminum dash integrated with Faria gauges and circuit breaker protected switches. A padded tilt wheel is standard and compliments the rest of the skipper’s controls. Best of all, contoured bucket seats for the captain and companion look cool and are comfortable and supportive.
The ladies on board will appreciate the concealed head compartment that is located just forward of the companion seat. The compartment offers 49 inches of headroom and is spacious enough for most folks, but a portable toilet is an option. Privacy is behind a one piece acrylic door with built in towel and paper holder, it even comes complete with a magazine rack.
All the Rest
The back of the boat is equipped for water sports and lounging. For starters, guest seating is supplied by a large U-shaped seating arrangement with hinged bottom cushions, offering extensive storage space within the compartments below. Installing filler inserts or the removable snack table greatly increases the utility of the aft cockpit area.
Working our way back, Larson’s innovative transom walkthrough uses articulating cushions to ease movement from the cockpit to the stern in addition to providing a head rest for the full beam sun pad. The transom neatly incorporates a rinse shower and on the swim platform, the boarding ladder features a built-in handle. Directly across to port, a wet storage locker gives you a spot for ski ropes and gloves.
Larson has built a reputation for building quality bowriders. The advent of the 234 Escape takes their reputation to a new level by offering consumers a lot more boat for the money. Besides a user friendly driving experience I found top quality craftsmanship and high-end components throughout the boat. Larson’s reps tell me they want to compete with the best built runabouts on the market, and the Escape is proof that they are well on their way of accomplishing that goal.
