The fall is a good time to reflect on the summer’s adventures and lay plans for the coming year. BoatTEST.com’s editors and captains would like to hear from you about the subjects that are near and dear to your hearts. We also like to pass along your thoughts to the boaters that we send this newsletter to each week. Just write to: firstname.lastname@example.org
or, use the handy “Comments” box at the end of this week’s letters.
This week readers complain about spam, request more tests, ask for help and give us a piece of their mind.
Letters From Readers
Would you have any information on a test on a 2004 Hydra-Sports 25 foot Vector Center
Console. Information on fuel burn or how it rides. I know you have tested a lot of boats but I checked with the manufactures of the boat and Yamaha about the 225 four strokes on the boat and had very little information.
No, we have not tested the 2500 Vector, but we have tested the 2200. We hope to be testing the 2500 this winter, so stay tuned. In the meantime, why not
check out Capt. John Wenz’s report on the 2200.
I don't like getting junk email however, your little newsletter is the exception.
Always enjoy looking it over, always enjoy the little "name that pic at the end."
Provides a nice break in a day when they come in.
Thanks for the nice words, Bob. We don’t like spam either and that is why our newsletter is “opt-in.” The boating industry is slowly wising up to the fact that spam is counter-productive. Be patient.
Challenger Owner Needs Help
I have a 2002 Challenger 2000. There is no one in
the area that will winterize it anymore. Can you send me info on how to do
it myself? I love my boat but if you suck up a rope or something else in the
intake area you are dead in the water. I wish there would be a clean out
accessible from inside the boat.
We are not familiar with Challenger boats, so will one of our kind readers who owns a Challenger be kind enough to help Dan out with some advice on his boat? Send it to “Letters to the Editor” and we’ll forward it along.
I am with Sub Sea Lighting (www.subsealights.com). We specialize in underwater LED lights for the marine industry. I was wondering if your website is open to companies for selling/distributing their products. If so, please let me know what the procedure is to get started.
At one time we did sell marine products but we got out of that business a couple of years ago. We are a big proponent of underwater lighting in boats and have published a number of videos and articles on the subject.

New PWC Tests?
Any idea when we might be able to see some 2010 PWC
reviews on the Sea-Doo or Yamahas?
Funny you should ask. Our first video report of the new Yamaha VX Deluxe appears in this newsletter. Videos on the other models will be coming out in future newsletters and new tests are being scheduled for Yamaha PWCs. We have not heard from the folks at Sea-Doo, but it is not for lack of asking. We’ll keep you posted.

Idea For Ski Boat Seating
I have a 2007 195 Bayliner with a tower that we use for skiing. My idea is to design the back bench seat so it could move forward on slides
toward the driver's and front passenger's seats. The back of the bench would
then tilt forward allowing these passengers to seat facing the water-skiers
and also assist in moving the center of gravity forward. I also feel it
would be much safer for the teens as they are not half turned facing
backward. I believe this could be designed with very little change to the
design of the boat. FYI --I have put on over 160 hours and logged over 1200 miles and my 195 Bayliner has worked flawless!
David, thanks for sharing your idea and it sounds good to us. Bayliner, how about it? If not Bayliner, who is interested?
