With the merger of MTU and Detroit Diesel some years ago, the marinized Series 60
is being marketed
to the marine industry as the MTU Series 60. With a turbocharger,
supercharger and large injectors the company is rating its high-horsepower model
at over 800-hp at 2300 rpm. Other marine versions are available under 500-hp from
