Formula’s 370 Super Sport combines style, high performance, quality and comfort. Her FasTech hull design and one-piece fiberglass structural grid give the 370 both strength and durability.
Key Features
The 370 was inspired by her predecessor, the 400 SS. At 37 feet overall, with a 10’6” beam and around 12,200 lbs. of displacement, the 370 is a lot of boat. She has a good-size cockpit with U-shaped lounge area and wet bar for outdoor entertaining. At the helm the 370 has a dual position seat with easy to read, backlit instrumentation and top of the line Kiekhaefer engine controls. In the cabin, Formula again gives you what you’d expect when it comes to standard features and comfort. The 370 has overnighting accommodations for 4 adults with an aft cabin and an Ultra leather sofa that converts into a double berth. The galley comes complete with Corian contertops, refrigerator, one-burner cooktop, microwave oven and sink.

Formula 370 Super Sport Captain's Report
Formula’s Super Sport models have been so popular in the past, that Thunderbird decided to create a model that would fit somewhere in the line between the 400SS and 330 SS. The 370SS was born by popular vote, and she’s a great complement to the line bringing with her everything you’d expect from Formula. What makes the Super Sport models so popular is their sleek appearance and overall good performance, which is due to the FastTech hull design. This stepped FasTech technology combined with a one-piece fiberglass structural grid stringer system gives the Formula both strength and agility while cruising.
There is plenty to commend on this 37-footer. First of all, she was designed with plenty of room both in the cockpit and the cabin. The 370SS was designed as a daycruiser but she also has good overnighting capabilities. In the cockpit there’s plenty of seating and suntanning areas available. A wetbar fitted with an AC/DC refrigerator, sink, and trash receptacle allow the host to remain in the cockpit while serving up drinks.
You enter the cabin through a one-piece curved acrylic door that slides into the dash. Six port lights allow plenty of natural light and breeze to flow through the cabin. Spacious accommodations await you down below, with an Ultraleather sofa, entertainment center with 13-inch color TV/VCR and AM/FM stereo with CD player.
The galley comes complete with Corian contertops, refrigerator, one-burner cooktop, microwave oven and sink. There are numerous cabinets for cooking utensils and storage.
An aft cabin features a queen-sized berth along with good stowage areas, a spacious head with Corian countertops, and enclosed shower with seat finishes the interior treatment on the 370SS.
When it comes to performance the 370 really showed us her guns. She jumped out of the hole in 5.7 seconds, and reached a top speed of 54.3 mph at 5000 rpm with a pair of 420-hp Volvo Penta 8.1 Gsi engines. Her superior performance, wave-slicing ride, and clean tight turns proved that Formula’s FastTech technology really works.
To sum up, the 370 is a well-executed entertainment platform and a beautiful boat to behold. Veteran designer John Adams has worked for the company for years, and his sleek, functional styling has always been one of the major elements that make Formula the leader in its field. In many ways Formula, along with a couple of other companies, has been in the forefront of sportboat design in America.
Now lets talk about price. You can find 37-footers for less money but they simply don’t have the quality construction, high-quality fittings, and superb fit and finish of a Formula. They do virtually everything right, such as chemically bonding and bolting the deck to the hull, all the stainless steel is 316, and most parts and systems out-sourced are from the highest-quality suppliers. The boat is simply loaded with the best items the industry has available, such as Kiekhaefer throttles, VDO gauges, a Ritchie compass, Dino tilt steering wheel, a motorized engine hatch, and courtesy lighting. The list goes on.
All of this costs money. It also creates a very durable boat and that is why Formula has a five-year transferable warranty. And if you’ve ever checked Formula out on the used boat market, you see that they sell for more. It’s worth your time to visit Formula’s website as they have an exhaustive description of the boat.
The 370SS adds up to what you’d expect Formula to deliver. She has proved herself by combining classic Super Sport styling, optimum performance and spacious accommodations.
