The Commodore 4060 is an extended stay cruiser that offers an exceptional floor plan similar to that of a much larger yacht. Starting at the bow we find a bow roller with a stainless steel chainguard and a forward anchor wash down. It has a large foredeck, sun pad with a built-in chaise lounge and port and starboard drink holders, which is very inviting to the tanning buff, if you catch my drift! The sun pad is easily accessible through the standard center walkthrough windshield. Although an unusual feature for this size boat, it’s a great addition.

The forward cockpit has a lounge and dining area, which can seat six close to the helm, and also invites your guests to join the captain. The cockpit features a refreshment center with a cutting board, refrigerator, sink and cooler for quick refills on the cocktails! The aft cockpit seating is an L-shape with lots of under cushion storage perfect for water toys and gear near the plentiful swim platform.

The helm station is large and comfortable with a doublewide adjustable seat. There is a built in drawer for sunglasses and other items that the captain may like to stow away and a five-position tilt steering wheel. The instrument panel includes dash circuit breakers, custom Regal backlit instrumentation, Raymarine depthfinder, GPS and VHF are standard. You may choose to add a Raytheon 10 inch color radar and autopilot as options.

Regal uses a unique approach to engine accessibility by incorporating an electrically assisted hatch that opens to the swim platform. This access allows more working room for maintenance without disturbing your guests, and keeps the cockpit and upholstery clean. The Regal Commodore 4060 comes standard with twin 8.1s MerCruisers that can reach a top speed of 37.5 mph. However, there a number of engine options from which to choose.

Regal’s Commodore 4060 not only moves effortlessly in most any water conditions, she has classy styling lines and a very confident attitude. Her good looks on the outside are complemented by an array of features and amenities on the inside. The high level of luxury and comfort within start with a two stateroom, two head layout. In between the two staterooms there is a spacious salon that offers plenty of 12 volt lighting and an abundance of natural lighting sources. There is also an unbelievable, innovating sofa with recliners on both ends.

Lets talk about the galley, Regal went all out with standard features like the 7.5 cubic inch Nova cool refrigerator/freezer, a dual burner electric stove. Plenty of cabinet and storage space with beautiful Corian countertops and rich hard wood flooring! It definitely leaves the galley with a nice warm glow. This same designer gave the forward stateroom top priority when it came to passenger comfort with features like a separate head, 6-foot 8-inch headroom with plenty of storage and lighting including two cedar lined hanging closets with courtesy lighting. There is a private entrance to the forward head from the salon area. The forward head also has features such as a vanity, stainless steel towel rack, full size mirror, and an acrylic shower door!

The mid-cabin stateroom is perfect for children or guests. It has a stand up dressing area that includes a vanity with sink and overhead storage plus private access to the second head.

This stateroom also offers twin beds that easily convert to a queen size berth with port and starboard port lights and halogen reading lamps. Lighting in this stateroom is no problem and if privacy is what you’re looking for, just close the doublewide hardwood door. Other features include lots of under berth storage and a hanging cedar locker making the mid-cabin stateroom a very comfortable, spacious, and quiet retreat.

In closing, I would like to commend Regal on the use of the handcrafted ultra high-gloss varnished Italian cherry wood in the interior of the Commodore 4060. It is an excellent choice for bringing the elegant and luxurious feel of a much larger yacht to the express yacht class. Leave it to Regal to pack 50 feet of boat into the 40 foot Commodore 4060 and maintain style, comfort and luxury.
